We were so disappointed over the weekend. We went on Saturday evening since they have extended hours starting in September, what they do do not share is during these extended hours they are no longe...r serving food, the inflatable wasn't up, you couldn't go out in the field and most of the other stuff wasn't going on. And since we went at 5:30 to have dinner, we had a unhappy party once we arrived. They now even charge you to go out in the field! It seems they have lost sight of what's important. A real shame. Such a disappointment. We were charged over $80 for a "festival day" for 2 adults, 2 kids (under 6) and a senior citizen to watch the kids play in the playground and then take the ride into the orchar...d to pick apples. That is a ridiculous amount of money to charge families from a "family" business. Why are you now charging $3 per person just to ride into the orchard when you never did before and are already charging such a high amount for a peck of apples? Not to mention that the apple selection was not as quality as in the past. We live less than 5 miles from Christ Orchard and choose Tanners instead every year. This year we are rethinking that decision. Please rethink your decision to charge people for every single attraction. See More

We go to Tanners every year with our kids and grandkids. This year there were 14 in our group. Tanners is taking advantage of their popularity and gouging their customers. I was shocked and appalled w...hen I paid $24 to pick a peck of apples: $18 for the bag and $6 for my husband and I. Each of our daughters paid $25 for their families. Sadly, I will not do this again next year. Another person recommended Christ Orchard which is where we will go next year. BTW, when I suggested that they not charge for parents and grandparents in the play area, the owner's daughter justified it by saying that we would have to pay if we took our grandchildren to a movie which is not an equal comparison, and it shows that they aren't going to change. Fun - the children loved it still.
Pricey for what you actually get all in all. But still worth it as there's not much around here to go to.
Hated the idea of being dropped off in one area first which... is of course tempting to fill up your bags for Apple right away, and come to find out that the rich, red and delicious apples are so untouched and abundant as you ride out of the farm :( .
Nonetheless, the children had fun and that's what matters the most.

For many years I have made the one hour ride to Tanners. I might go there this year only for peaches and blueberries if they are even available. I won't be going there for anything else. It is obvious... that they have become very money hungry. Charging to pick apples on top of the price of the apples is insane and to charge parents to watch their kids play is ridiculous. If they want to charge that much they should be providing child care. Christ Orchard has no lines, the people are very friendly and their apples are better. Tanners is going to price themselves right out of business. Bad news travels fast!!!!!!! See More

I have come to tanners for years and me and my kids love it.. today however I witnessed what I believe to be a family member painting the red play fire truck. She didnt have it taped off. She walked a...way and two little girls, not mine, ran over to play on it. This rude lady that was painting started yelling at these poor girls " no,no get off it. Can't you listen? Don't you children know how to behave? You are going to be covered in paint" the mother ran over to get these girls and the girls are in tears and this rude lady said "don't they know how to behave?" Again.. and the mom said they didn't realize. I have never seen such a psycho person act that way towards children that aren't there's. Tanners obviously needs to have a meeting with family and employees and straighten them out, teach them how to be kind and how to be around children, I mean this is a family place after all. I don't know if I will be able to give my business anymore. We usually come to tanners multiple times. Buy tons of baked goods, 6-8 jars of jam, cider and multiple other things. I am absolutely disgusted by this though so I'm not sure we will be back. See More

If you have kids make sure you bring lots of $$$. Play area is $8 per person unless 3 years old or under. Food is $6 - $8 per person. Items in shop were $8 - $10 per jar and cider was $9+ per gallon...... free samples always make it a good time. Lots of new features this year. Overall if you have a family of 4 bring at least $200 See More

We seem to go out there later in the day and for the second year in a row we have been to late to order food and this not enjoying our time there...we like to eat a meal, specially after a long drive ...before we do our activities. The food cut off time is 230 or before but they are open until 5...why would you stop serving food when plenty of Customers are still in attendance...alot of people like to eat a late lunch or even an early dinner.....I won't be taking our family back again next year. We have left hungry twice now and you won't get us for a third time. Serve FOOD while your open!!!!'s simple! See More

They have really gone above and beyond to make lots of fun activities for the kids, however the prices are too high for my wallet. We only come during the free play month because we wouldn't be able t...o afford it otherwise. There are so many delicious items I'd love to take home, but cost always has me limiting me purchase to 2-3 items only. Great place, outrageous prices! If prices were lowered they'd certainly get more business from my family. See More

I have been going to tanners since I was little. We have 5 kids we spent around $200 there yesterday. $3 a person to go pick apples not to mention the price of getting a peck of apples. Then it costs ...$6 a person to walk through the maze. Then $8 per person to go and play on playground. Go to the park and play for free. Almost $9 for a dozen donuts. Almost 10$ for 4 Carmel apples. $6 for 2 apple ciders. These prices make it hard for us to take our kids. Also they have the bail of hay blocked off. Couldnt take good pics in front of them.We won't be going back. Last year we witnessed a lil girl fall of the train ride and she got ran over. Hopefully they made them safer this year as it was still running. Also over heard employees say they get to busy on weekends to have dinner opened. See More

Went here many times when I was younger. I live in Missouri now, and still try to come back in the fall. Honeycrisp apples are amazing!

Our visit this past weekend was disappointing. The extended hours for the season did not include the grill....that's an oversight....extended hours during dinner time but don't serve food? The trikes ...had been put away, the air mattress was deflated...that's a long trip for a place to make decisions on the fly and not notify customers. Wont return. From the other comments and reviews I've been reading as of late Tanners has lost focus. See More

We had the best time yesterday! We got stocked up on tanners goodies. And the kids got to enjoy the full tanner experience. They fed goats mined some treasures. Owen was very excited about shark teeth.... They also got to play on the huge playground. The playground is free in August. FYI See More

Yesterday we (my girlfriend & I) arrived at 9:00 a.m. for a painting class with the owner of Yer Kiln Me. I asked 3 different workers where the class was. None of them knew anything about it and a ver...y nice man took us to the office. Two of the ladies sitting in the air conditioned office didn't know where the class would be held and took us to another lady working there. That lady also didn't know where the class would be taking place. They discussed it and said "Let's put them out in the tent". Sooooooo...... out we go to the tent. The tables were not cleaned off so they had a worker clean them with bleach water...... she didn't dry the seats and we weren't going to sit there and have the bleach water ruin our clothes and we asked the worker to please wipe them off. Then we start the class.... we could not hear the instructor because our tent was right in the middle of the play area for all the kids. There had to be at least 100 kids there. They were screaming and some were fighting ...... one little girl had a temper tantrum and was screaming.... kicking...and crying. It was getting hotter and more humid by the minute. It was NOT a relaxing fun time like we are used to when we pay money for classes. The class was about 2 hours and we could have been seated at the food court or the eating area. There were only 9 people in the class and we would not have taken up much room. They don't start serving lunch until 11:00 a.m. so we would not have been in the way. I would suggest to be more organized and DO NOT PUT THE CLASSES BY SCREAMING KIDS!!!!! See More

We had a blast today! The kids loved playing in the back 40 and petting the goats. We also tried the mining attraction. It was $8.50 for a bag which I thought was expensive until I saw all the pretty my daughter found. It was really worth the money and could totally be split between 2 kids. We had a great day and will be back soon! See More

It's hard for us to go into the play area as it would cost a fortune with all of our adopted/foster kids. Beyond thankful that your offering free for the month of August. All 6 kids had a blast I grew up in Chillicothe now outside Champaign and I would have taken the trip a hundred times over that we took yesterday. So many memories of Mom and Dad spending almost every wknd there when they were with me. Hoping to come out at least one more weekend in Aug so the kids can play again. Our battery went dead and a super sweet lady came in a Tanners truck as my bp was probably through the roof wondering how I would get all these kids home. Never got her name but thank you from the bottom of my heart!! Please let me know if you ever offer discounts/passes for play area after Aug. Once again Tanners you never dissapoint and I'll continue to bring our foster/ adoptive children there so they can have the same memories I did growing up. See More
