Luz Villar was 9 when she entered foster care and a college student when she experienced homelessness. Now, she shares her story to inspire students at Minds Matter Boston Chapter, led by TFA alumna Rachel Kanter.
Lunch is an important ritual at Mott Haven Academy, a school founded by TFA alumna Jessica Nauiokas to serve students in foster care and preventative services. Each day, kids eat family-style at round tables where they serve themselves, de-stress, and build community.
