Live Like Lizzie Challenge!

Lizzie had a bucket list that, sadly, she did not get to complete. Her mom, Dianne, has been posting on Lizzie's blog. She has challenged us to Live Like Lizzie by picking an item on Lizzie's bucket list to complete in her memory.

Look at the things she was not able to do. Pick one or two or more and do them! Report back to the blog so Dianne can update the list or email her at

Dianne wrote, "Alex and I chose to go on the swamp tour because Lizzie wanted to see alligators in the wild. We tried to cross off the tickle a penguin, but couldn't get tickets to the penguin adventure. Chrissii, Kyle, and Alex are planning a sky diving adventure in honor of Lizzie."

The complete bucket list can be viewed on Lizzie's blog

Pick up a copy of the February Journey magazine available all around Lufkin to see a feature called "Lessons from Lizzie." There are two pictures of Lizzie by herself and one with her sister, Alex, and one with her dad, Travis. There are two pages of Lizzie's quotes, including this one: "Instead of wallowing in my own self pity and mourning my own losses, I choose to focus on the positives. Without this illness, I would never have been able to make an impact on so many other people's lives."

And you're still making that impact, Lovely Liz.

Lizzie loved music! In her honor, we post this video by Chris Tomlin. It's for those of you who are hurting even while you are celebrating her new life in heaven. May you find comfort in the lyrics. "...I will rise when he calls my name, no more sorrow, no more pain. I will rise on eagle's wings; before my God, fall on my knees..."

Copied from Milagros Facebook page: You guys did it! Now this is so sweet. We asked to raise $1550 for Lizzie Wallace's January stay at The Joseph House. I just now counted and re-counted. At the end of the day, we had taken 116 orders for Milagros Chocolate Cobbler kits at $12.50 each...We received an additional $100 in donations. The total is EXACTLY $1550....not a penny less, not a penny more. Now that my fb friends, is a "milagro". Loving that Team Lizzie Wallace and all of you especially that helped spread the word. We will be making the last of the kits early in the morning so you can pick them up before 4:30 tomorrow if you want to give them as gifts...And for those of you picking up after Christmas, not to worry, we will hold them for you. Thank you for letting us use Milagros as a voice for Lizzie; thank you for giving....I am so thankful to God for this lesson in more time. Merry Christmas all. I think I might go cry
