I had my wedding here a few weeks ago , if I was reviewing just the venue then I can't give it enough as I love the venue, unfortunately
The management are shocking! The contact and help in the lead u...p to the wedding was non existent. The manager is miserable and very rude. On top of
This arranged with my event lady to buy and decorate ourselves and things were thrown away after by their staff and they tried to blame guests which was a lie. For the cost that it is I expected good customer services

We arrived on Sunday for a carvery at 3pm and there was only one meat to choose from, the chef made excuses to the fact that they had been busy and apologised. I had what meat was on offer but my wife... didn't have what she wanted and we were all charged full price which, for a limited choice roast dinner I found expensive.
Will go back again but at an earlier time as past experiences have been better.

We arrived here today with no booking. We got a table with our baby and had a delicious meal. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. The building is beautiful and I would go back there in a hea...rtbeat. Thanks to all the staff See More

Great carvery, very good quality meat and vegetables, well cooked and beautifully presented. The service is also very good. The Front of House welcome is exceptional, very friendly and humourous, make...s you feel at home.
The ambiance in the conservatory is lovely, very light and airy but still retains a homely feel.
This is all contained in a stunning tudor building with a lot of history and many original and old features.

My girlfriend, daughter and I had the carvery on Sunday 25/6/17 and the food was delicious and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I have recommended the grasshopper for the carvery to all my f...riends on Facebook.
The Italian guy with the ginger hair was so good with all the children in the restaurant, making them laugh and putting the parents at ease.
Will definitely be back !

Had private room, for friends 60th birthday, 32 people, awful service, not one drink bought to the table, had to keep going to the bar, food service was shambolic, even though spread sheets were provi...ded by us, didn't have a clue who had what, food was cold and of very poor quality, and bar shut promptly at 11, with only 5 minutes warning, even though some of our party were residents, no more service. Would not recommend this place to anyone!!! See More

Beautiful building, so many features. We stayed for 2 nights @ £110 per night. We started in the Parr room, small and not what I was expecting for the money but bathroom was huge and very modern. Tv small and didn't work so we were moved to Cleeves which is a family room with another little room with bunk beds. This room was a much better size and bathroom again very good but there was a funny smell in there, opened windows and eventually found the extractor fan switch. There's a lounge area with leather sofas and a big tv it's a great place to sit.
Breakfast was superb, well cooked and well presented.
The Sunday carvery was good, lots of choice.
If my husband hadn't have already known about the carvery we wouldn't have know, not enough info given.
All staff were good, have a nice stay.

Went to the Grasshopper yesterday for mothers day lunch. Food was OK, not to the standard we were expecting for the price we paid. We were directed to a table laid out for the 6 of us but only had 5... chairs. My dad had to stand and wait for a chair. My daughter went to sit down and on the chair was a dessert spoon covered in chocolate, not good when she was wearing white jeans!!! Well, any clothing that's total neglect from the staff. Also on the floor under the table was 3 knives and 2 spoons. Cleaning our area was obviously not on the staffs mind. Wouldn't go again. See More

We went here on 16 October for a meal for my wife's birthday.

As there were 7 of us, we had booked a table. On arrival, the staff could find no record of the reservation (which was not a complete su...rprise given my wife had to remind the chap who took the reservation that he should also take her name). Luckily, they were able to accommodate us, but it would have been very frustrating if they couldn't.

The food we had was very nice, and we weren't rushed. All those who had the carvery commented on the generous portions too.

I had the fish and chips. Unfortunately the chips were made from unpeeled potatoes. Chips are a simple idea and exceedingly popular in their traditional form. I thought humanity had decided on what chips should be like, and what was best. It's really rather annoying when people start mucking around with such a winning idea.

Apart from the chips, and the reservation cock-up, we had a lovely time.

We went to the Christmas Gala dinner for the 3rd year in a row, very disappointed in the food and the dinner service, There was very little turkey mainly stuffing and with the lamb shank it was al...l meat and very little veg, They used to bring out a table at a time but it was all over the place, On the plus side the atmosphere was very good See More

My new husband I decided to stay here on the night of our wedding with some of our family. We informed them that we would be back late and they explained this wouldn't be a problem. If door is locked ...just call. After 30 minutes of calling and children being left outside in the rain and cold at 12.30 at night, to say we were not impressed is an understatement. When we were let in by a guy, no apology at all!!!
Room lovely. Great breakfast. And had a meal to look forward to at 1pm with all family. 20 guests.
Then it took another turn for the worse. Proceeded to take drinks order. Finally returning for food order which then had to be changed as they had run out of rump steak, ribeye steak and lamb cutlets!! (On Easter weekend this surprised me!!!)
Then an hour wait for food that 2 steaks came cold. They went back. Food filtered out very slowly meaning the first to get food had already finished before we had started. Kids meals served last?!
I don't blame the servers. They did the best they could, sadly the chef completely let them down and so did management!! At one point we asked someone who looked senior for the kids meals as we had been waiting a while and she just said "there wasn't a pre-order so I'll see what can be done" well if you cannot cope with a pre-booked table of 20 people then offer a pre-order as this was not even mentioned at booking!!
Easter egg hunt that was organised was good fun and as I say servers were lovely. But sadly we won't be coming back and neither will the 18 guests we invited for lunch yesterday!!!
