Brrrr, it's cold outside! But since there is no ice on the ground, we plan on having Worship tonight. Come warm your heart at the Wesley!
A great time was had by one and all!
What an honor and a privilege to be asked to speak to the GSM Project @ SWOSU. Please join me in love and support of this awesome group.
At 7:30 am, one of our Wesley students came in to receive the imposition of ashes. She then went to class. One student (unknowingly and innocently) asked if it was "war paint". I love this - yes, it is WAR PAINT! We, as Christians, on this Ash Wednesday, wage a war against sin, we wage a war against evil. Matthew 16:23: Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns." Get behind us satan - for today, we are marked as Children of God, marked in love by the redeeming grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May this outward sign of our inward faith be a beacon of Christ's love to one and all.
