An excellent website with a wide variety of mediums to explore. As someone without autism, I find it helpful to read and see art made by people with autism to get a better perspectiv e into their lives.... I also believe that the blog can inspire and help others with autism to explore art. A very well done website and page and a big fan of the Art of Autism over all! See More

I don’t know, it is probably my fault, as I am old, probably too old for all this. For me there are far too many links far too often on this page, often with different perspectiv es. Far too many far t...oo often. And no personal support. Too much mutual admiration .
My grandson is autistic and a few months ago he started to develop some interest in art. I wanted to help him, but honestly, I feel like getting lost in a maze here. I wish I could go back in time when I was young and conversati on was meaningful .
Anyway, nothing personal, maybe I am just too old, but I hope I am entitled to my opinion too. See More

I love what this organizati on does to help promote the creativity of those of us on the spectrum. The arts have become a pivotal part of my life, and I know there are many others on the spectrum who f...eel the same way.
As a bit of personal background : I am on the autism spectrum and had a tumultuous upbringing . I developed a tendency to go inward and shut off my emotions as a self-prese rvation mechanism. I pursued (and continue to pursue) a career in computer science and web developmen t because it is a more isolated and pragmatic at times than emotional. However, over the last 2-3 years, I passionate ly dove head-first into the arts. I have been taking abstract painting classes, doing digital photograph y, taking blues/ jazz guitar lessons, dabbling in harmonica and singing blues, and overall, I have found the arts therapeuti c and rewarding. The arts have opened me up socially to the extent that I went from shy and timid and anxious to successful ly appearing at an open blues jam on the outskirts of Nashville, TN in spite of stage fright and self doubt in a matter of 2 years of playing guitar - something I never thought I would be able to do. I'm creating a documentar y for my town's local public access TV channel which highlights my experience so far in the arts/ music/ technology and puts the spotlight on my educators and mentors in the arts as well. I bring all of this up because I had it rough for quite a while, but ultimately hope sharing my story here and in the film will inspire others who have it rough to realize there is always hope.
On this note, I love this organizati on because they showcase these types of artistic triumphs many of us on the spectrum experience , while simultaneo usly shining light onto social injustices many of us experience , which I believe is a great step toward creating a more compassion ate world. It's inspiring. See More

The art of Autism is an interestin g organizati on founded in part or fully to highlight different artists on the spectrum. I happen to be one of them. I also find the body running the show quite capt...ivating, as they have been personal friends for a few years now on the internet. I would recommend this collective to any artist on the spectrum to consider for exposure. See More

I love this idea! As someone on the spectrum, I feel that too often people view us in a negative light or think we sit around doing math all day. Thanks for showing the world that we are so much more.... I blog and write articles for several webzines, and recently finished one on Body Image and how it relates to ASD. I've included a link to your donations page for my readers. Hope it helps! :) See More

It's interestin g that "The Art of Autism" is allowing this Troll to harass our daughter Candy and family on their "Anti-Bull ying" post/ thread. If "The Art of Autism" does not approve of and doesn't p...articipate in cyberbully ing like they say they do. Then they would delete these defamatory comments about our daughter Candy and our family on their Like Page. The Art of Autism "Anti-Bull ying" policy doesn't seem so strict. Sad See More

Beautiful but not surprising . We just have a society that never bothered to look. Glad it's finally out there for all to enjoy and be amazed.
