We had a wonderful experience and exceeded our expectations when we stayed at Barnard house. The house is full of antique and original furnishings while being restored to comfortable modern conditions.... All amenities you would want or expect are available. The location overlooking the Allegheny River is beautiful, and right on the Erie trail so walking, bicycling or canoeing is abundant. The breakfast by Cathy and Paul was outstanding and made with locally produced food.

For anyone who appreciates historical living and homes, outdoor recreation, beautiful and serene views, great food and friendly hosts, you will be happy staying at Barnard House.

This was an amazing place to stay even though we had a few hiccups with our booking site they still were very nice to accommodate our last minute booking. I was very sad that we couldn't stay for brea...kfast as I was really looking forward to it. We will definitely be coming back here to stay. See More

What a beautiful place! Beautiful setting along the river. Cathy and Paul went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The outside setting is perfect. Beautiful gardens surround the hot tub and pati...o setting. The house is so comfortable and warm. They prepared a fabulous breakfast. Biking the trail was beautiful, even in the unseasonably cold weather. Paul was on hand for drop off and pick up if needed. Honestly you leave there feeling like you have known them for years.
We plan to go back again.

My wife and I took a last minute motorcycle ride to Emlenton and we stayed at the Barnard House. We gave Paul and Cathy only about a 24 hour notice that we were coming. Our room was very clean and wel...coming. We learned a lot of history of the Barnard House and surrounding area during our visit. Quite peaceful sitting around the fire with another house guest. Can't wait to go back!! See More

We had the pleasure of staying at the Barnard House this past weekend...Kathy and Paul were very gracious and accommodating hosts. I enjoyed learning more of the history of Emlenton, and the areas in which we hike and float, as the area is rich in oil and railroad history and the hosts are extremely knowledgable. The location is perfect for our outdoor activities; we were able to kayak in, then bike out. We were also able to enjoy some culture in the evening and grab a great burger in neighboring Foxburg, another of my favorite spots. A great place to stay if you are looking for some recreation or rest and relaxation... See More

Last night my husband and I booked the night so we could ride the ART. The Barnard House is very charming and our hosts couldn't have been any better. They both are very knowledgeable of the area an...d so many other subjects. This is why I love staying at a place like this. Conversations over a home cooked breakfast was grand. See More

Absolutely adorable. The breakfast is out of this world, and the owners are wonderful people. This is my new favorite vacation location. The best b&b there is.

LavenderGreen Farm is so excited about the work you are doing to restore a nearby and famous landmark. Hopefully, some of our lavender loving fans will visit next summer. Kudos!
Briar attended his first track invitational with Allegheny Clarion Valley at Cranberry. He did well in every event. I wish he would move this fast when I ask him to do something!
North of Emlenton the Allegheny river continues to peacefully chug along as farther south ice deposits build up.
