Tried stopping there about 6 months ago on the way North but it looked too busy, so went next door to the bakery (which is amazing by the way). Anyway today being Easter Sunday had no choice but to go... there. Read the review that it was great for kids...

Not sure if the menu has changed but there was barely anything on that menu that my 3 yr. old would eat. Very sophisticated menu... Well got our food and as I'm trying to feed my 3 yr old a burnt grilled cheese I had to rip it into pieces as she refused to bite. Oh every time the servers would pass I got a weird look, like come on my child needs to eat I'm not doing anything rude. Well at some point my daughter refused to eat completely so I took out my phone and she started to watch some you tube kids and eat. It was not loud or offensive well 2 mins later a guy comes out (not sure if he was the owner or who) and says "you gonna have to turn it down", not could you please but he's giving me this ultimatum, otherwise what he's gonna kick me out? Anyway we were planning to get desserts there as well, but we just left. I was extremely upset. Very rude and not child friendly at all, not the menu not the atmosphere.

They are trying to pretend they are some fancy high dining place which they are barely better than a Tim Hortons in my opinion. Never ever will I be stopping there again and I go back and forth a lot.

Once a year, for the last five years, we have travelled to the area for a weekend away and plan around maximizing the number of meals we can have at The Bicycle Cafe. The food and drinks are amazing, are the ambiance and staff. Julie and Peter stand by their values and it shows in the way they run their business with very local roots.

I came to your Facebook page because I’ve been craving an egg salad sandwich, which you don’t offer but I cannot get out of my head how you’d pull it off. On a fresh croissant? With pea shoots? And chips on the side? Amazing.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I’ve been dreaming of your food and that I doubt we will be able to wait until next February to have some!

We had a most enjoyable meal at the Bicycle last night. So happy we opted to go there instead of our initial choice...My African Stew was fantastic and my husband who can't handle spices was delighted... with his Chicken Dumpling soup and Jasmine rice. Our dining companions thoroughly enjoyed their El Porko and BBQ'd Chicken, followed with a well done Creme Brulee, torched perfectly. Looking forward to our next taste adventure...well done ! Our party of five stopped for lunch twice and both times were great. The food is clearly made freshly in the premises and the service was very friendly. Will definitely stop here again on our way up n...orth from Toronto. See More

We went to The Bicycle Cafe on August 11th and will never be back! Food took an hour to get but that was not the worst of it. My mother in law cannot have any spicy food due to a medical condition. ... We asked the server if the dish she was considering was spicy at all and explained why and were advised it was not spicy at all. When her meal came it was very spicy. We advised the server and were told that wasnt spicy. Each of the 4 of us tasted it as well as offered to exchange meals with her. Her meal was incredibly spicy - from someone who likes spice . We again advised the server who said she would double check but never came back. We shared 3 meals and left the spicy 4th. When we asked for the bill we again told her that for future questioning the meal in question was very spicy. There was no apology or offer to remove the meal from our bill. See More

Food and Atmosphere were great. Just a little disappointed in the time it took to receive 1 sandwich order. We were in a rush as we were going to a wedding and needed to do take out, the one sandwich ...still took about 30 minutes to receive. See More

You always wanted to be invited into the kitchen and family room of that really cool and unique couple down the road. Julie and Peter are that couple and this is their place and you are indeed that lucky.

One of the few places where I can eat something that isn't food-service pre-fab. Great down-home cooking!!! These guys embody everything that I look for in a 'Mom and Pop'. Genuine conversation - ...unlike the fake small talk of other bumpkin-like places. WHEN IN FLESHERTON I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BICYCLE CAFE. It is a breath of fresh air in a local world of fries, fries, and more fries. See More
