Pastor Katrina Deason, director of Liberty County Manna House, reacts after Liberty Cinemas General Manager Robert Williams Jr. prepares to present her with a check for $6,000.
The money will be used to stock the local food pantry and was one of several donations made to charities by the St. Simon’s Island-based Georgia Theater Company with its annual Cinema for a Cause event. The company donated 100 percent of the money it made from Oct. 16 ticket purchases made at its 24 locations to 36 local charities. Variety of Georgia also received a donation from Liberty Cinemas.
