THIS BAND STARTED INSIDE KAPPA ALPHA FRATERNITY IN RHODES COLLEGE IN MEMPHIS IN 1986. ONE OF THE HARDEST WORKING BAND IN THE SEC FOR MANY YEARS THIS WAS THE FIRST TRY AT RECORDING. THE OTHER DAY RECORDED IN MEMPHIS AT EASLEY RECORDING STUDIOS WAS THEIR FIRST. HAPPY WITH THAT THEY RECORDED A SECOND CD THE WORM HAS TURNED IN 1992. THE BAND IS NOW DISBANDED BUT THEIR FAME LIVES ON IN VIDS ON YOU-TUBE

My name is Don Von Maurer I worked with the Five That Killed Elvis for about 4 and a half years. We traveled the roads of the SEC every weekend from Wed Through Sun until the band disbanded in 93. I am retired and have a lot of time on my hands. I have COPD and am on 02 24/7. I wanted to revive the legacy of The Five mainly because they were good friends and they had not communicated with each oth...er for years. The way it started is is my fault. I switched my insurance to Windsor and they offered glasses in their coverage. I got out my provider info and looked up optometrists and there at Target was Tommy Coleman one of the guitar players for the Five I called up and made an appointment with him but while I was doing it grilled the assistant about Tommy and told her to tell him to call my number and ask for Dandy Don the name they gave me. He did and we talked and at the appointment he brought me copies of the 1St Cd on Cassette and copies of the 2nd album on cd. From there I started making music video without video using a few pics the bass player had and pictures I gathered off the web and of course the CD. I started getting in contact with band members through FaceBook and found all of them except Felix the guitar player. I asked Tommy if he knew how to get in touch with Felix and he said no so I searched for a Bryan on FB and found a friend of Felix and asked them to get felix to give me a call and he had a lot of pic of the band so I put a FB Page together and the rest is ongoing. They are doing a 20 yr reunion this yr in Memphis and DANDY DON PRODUCTIONS HAS RELEASED a new CD THE FIVE LIVE FROM THE VAULTS of live music I recorded on the road 15 SMOKIN HOT TUNES FROM ALL OVER THE SOUTHEAST CLASSIC FIVE GLORIA, I FALL TO PIECES, WILDFLOWER, HOUND DOG AND SOME OF THE BEST ORIGINALS FROM FIRST TWO CD'S. YOU WILL FEEL LIKE YOU ARE SITTING IN THE CLUB WITH THEM 20 YEARS AGO.
