In the land of The Good Excuses, today is National Adam's Birthday day. We don't typically celebrate National Andy's birthday or National Jim's birthday because of their associations with known criminals...and we honestly don't know when National Jeff's birthday is (he was off the grid until 2009 and won't tell us how he got any of his physical or emotional scars). Last night we broke the news that we're playing at MilkBoy Philadelphia next Wednesday, 5/21..for the Rock on Philly birthday show. The audience at this show is going to pick which ever performer should be the Rock On Philly Artist of the Month, or get musical things that cost lots of money. You guys did it! We won a spot at The Jam at The Dam in July. That was the closest race we've ever been in. Every single vote counted and we're blown away by all the support from everybody. If you voted, let us know! send an email to us at andrew@thegoodexcuses.com. if you got other people to vote, share our music with them and tell them to email us too so we can keep you guys in the loop about stuff we're doing. Facebook is a money grubbing butt pimple that doesn't let hardly anything we say on here get out to anybody. Also, when you email us, let us know if you're doing anything right now or in the future with music or art or fundraisers or anything positive so we can be a part of it. Lets keep the love goin! We're gonna be at Shady Katie's and Hebe Music Lounge at Big Shots Bar and Grill this weekend..it'd be great to see your faces!

would anybody want to hear an acoustic demo of einstein's bully? it's just me and the guitar hitting some wrong notes in the kitchen..but it's kinda cool. slightly different than what's on the album as well. -andy

So Rock on Philly just put up an awesome album review of "30 Minutes or Less". So happy right now. It was in-fact a DIY album, recorded, mixed, and mastered by us in a room we built ourselves inside of an existing garage. The floors are cem...ent. The equipment is basic. We taught ourselves from beginning to end. We mostly gave away the first run of it at shows and it's up for free right now to stream on Soundcloud, but if you like it and like what we're doing, you can buy it here on Facebook, iTunes, and Bandcamp (i think there's even a link on soundcloud).

Well, I think we'll celebrate tonight with beers.

Last night at MilkBoy Philadelphia was unbelievable. We ending up getting the most votes from the audience and won some awesome equipment from Velodyne Acoustics and a featured spot on their blog, studio time at Philly Sound Studios, and a consultation with a music licensing company Rockwell Music Catalog. Pretty incredible stuff. Everybody that came out to philly last night, thank you. We seriously love the hell outta you.

If you don't know yet what Rock on Philly is all about, we'll tell you. It's a website dedicated to spreading the word about how awesome the philly music scene is right now to the rest of the country..and world. Right now we're featured as ...the video of the week and we're lucky enough to be playing their birthday show at MilkBoy Philadelphia on 5/21. They're going to make one of the artists the featured artist of the month on their website and give them musical things that cost lots of money...but the audience is making the choice of who gets it.
