Second visit to this little pub. Set in the little village of Elvington, the only pub here really. Lovely staff and the rooms are nice and clean with heating. Food is nice too, we stayed for two night... while going the the 6th Gear experience of driving the super cars at Elvington airstrip. Change of ownership around 12 weeks ago but will come again. A nice warm welcome, a good selection of cask ales at reasonable prices. Even though we stayed in our campervan on the car park we were offered a breakfast, which was excellent value.

Went today for Mother's Day, seemed a nice place -good reviews..... After 1 hour of waiting our starters finally arrived - portion size was disgusting, for the price asked I would expect more than 1 s...lice of bread with a few cheese squares and a couple of salad leaves. Half an hour later, our mains arrived. I was very disappointed to see the beef red, having sent my partners back and asked for a more well done slice. It returned, microwaved to a crisp. Roast potatoes where half roasted, the mash no more the a teaspoon full. Left hungry due to lack of food on our plates. Really ruined what had been a lovely Mother's Day. Such a shame! However, the service provided by the young waitresses was very polite and they handled the complaint really adequately. See More

I have visited the pub tonight with my wife for the relaunch and I have to admit it's one of the best pubs we've visited. The food was great as was the service. Will definitely be back!

Had a lovely meal from the new menu with my dad and the boys this evening. Especially liked the idea of a kids portion of an adult meal for my littlest rather the usual kids choice. The service was gr...eat and it was good to chat to the welcoming land lady. X See More

The pub will be closing for a period of ten days from Monday and so we have decided to have leaving drinks on Saturday night so you can all help us drink the pub dry! It would be fantastic if you can pop in for a farewell drink and a bit of supper. We are looking forward to sharing our last Saturday with all of you and we have dusted off the karaoke machine for anyone brave or drunk enough to have a bash! Let's make a few more happy memories for we know more than most how important they are.

Hope to see you on Saturday and thank you all for your support Amanda and Andy xx
