This is an important thing to remember. Keeping good boundaries is an act of self-love. You cannot let everyone in. When you like yourself and respect yourself, you need to protect yourself by keeping some people OUT.

Get in touch with who you are...

A gorgeous film about being in the wild. Sorrel fans will recognize a lot of this landscape.

Being Here is a beautiful short film from Hilary Oliver that urges us to take a break from our busy lives to seek out the wild places. The poetic narrative reminds us that outdoor adventure is often the most valuable form of self-discovery. You can watch our interview with the filmmaker here.

Lightly, my darling...

I really like this, and yet we need to be careful about the "giving to others" part. In love addiction we can often trick ourselves into believing we are simply "giving to others" because we love and we are "full." And yet, the reality is, we are giving to get something back to fill ourselves. We are giving out of fear and codependence. How do you know if you are giving freely of yourself in true love? You typically want nothing in return. Another word of caution: if you are in a relationship where you are giving and caring and not receiving anything in return, this too could be attachment, not love. True love recognizes that there is equality in healthy relationships :)

OK Folks, this gave me shivers. It really addressed what I am going through now in my life (with my son) but I think it may deeply resonate with love and addiction. <3
