This fun monkey playing the banjo is 5” tall and his tail spins as he is playing. The box is marked “Made in Occupied Japan Pat. Pending” on one side of the box and “Toyland Toy Reliance Chicago” on the other. The monkey itself is not marked. I have enclosed two still pictures in the comments to show the markings. Enjoy the video! Carol Warrington collection

I don’t collect toys as a rule, but yesterday when Bob and I went to a flea market I just could not help myself and bought this cute/silly monkey. Since this is a video, I put two still pictures of him in the comments. The monkey is 7” tall and is playing his guitar while swinging his head back and forth. He is made of celluloid, the stump he is sitting on is tin, and the base is wooden. The Made in Occupied Japan stamp is on the bottom of the wooden base. Unhappily the original box and key were missing, but the seller gave me a modern key to wind him up. Carol Warrington collection
