The Ploughman shared a memory.

One year ago today. It's still appropriate. March, in like a lion. And, out like a lamb. Ah, yes, It's good to be The Ploughman.

Why, hello! This is a shout out to all patrons who have been patiently waiting for those irresistible Luxardo cherries....They are back! Cocktails, ice cream adornment, or a drizzle on our baked lemon ricotta cake are only 3 options. Come and get'em. Ah, yes. It's good to be The Ploughman

Due to technical difficulties, today's tasting with Two Roads will be postponed. But, no worries! It actually get's better! We will be tasting Two Roads tomorrow between 1-4 during....wait for it....THE ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE!!! The parade passes right by our door, so The Ploughman is a perfect vantage point! Enjoy your beer and enjoy the parade at the same time! Ah, yes. It's good to be The Ploughman

Top of the morning, to you! (the correct response is "and, the rest of the day, yourself!") Well, Happy St. Patrick's Day, one and all. Regardless of your heritage, today is a good day to remember what shores you came from and the fact that that common denominator is what makes us so alike. That having been said, beers are flowing and the staff is at the ready to fulfill your cheese, charcuterie and beer needs. In addition, the Brooklyn St. Patrick's Day parade flows right by the store on Sunday! ( Come and hang out with us as we listen to the beautiful yet mournful pipes!

Beware the Ides of March, my friends! And watch out for icy patches, snow falling from branches and awnings, and the stray snow/ice ball hitting you in the back. On the other hand, it's a good day for an oozy mac 'n cheese or goozy grillled cheese sandwich to stick to the still cold winter bones. Accompanied with a classic IPA or Kolsch and you a pair of slippers and you have a cozy night! We have the stuff you need right here! Ah, yes. It's good to be The Ploughman.

Well, winter sure did return with a vengeance, didn't it? Nip it back with a taste of Peak Organic today. 3 freshly tapped Peak Organic beers are on our tasting board today. Join us between 4-7 and get your Peak on! Ah, yes. It's good to be The Ploughman.

Join us today as we host the oldest brewery in the world! Weihenstephaner is in the house and Melissa will be here to pour the delighful brews we have on board. See you there 4-7 pm. Ah, yes. It's good to be the Ploughman

All it takes is time, my friends. Fermentation is our friend. PIckles, beer, and cheese. It sounds sort of familiar, no? Happy Beer Week! Ah, yes. It's good to be The Ploughman.

New York’s first fermentation festival will include how-to demonstrations and kid-friendly exhibits.

It is going to be an interesting weekend, for sure. Our friends, brothers, and sisters, on Saturday in DC and in many cities across the country will raise their voices. For whatever you have to say, you have the right to speak your mind. We won't be able to make it to the rally's, but we do have six points to make. Sixpoint Brewery will be here for a tasting on Saturday, January 21, 4-7. Raise your glass and your voice if you so like. See you on Saturday. Ah, yes. It's good to be The Ploughman.

Another great reason to support our new CSF (Community Supported Fishery). Meet your local mongers from Fulton Fish Market. Friday, Oct 14 5:30-7. Enjoy a bit of ceviche, a beer or two, and catch up on the offerings aquatic. The Ploughman is proud to be a pick up site for the CSF. Ah, yes. It's good to be The Ploughman.

A reader asks: Is fish in itself good for you? Or do the benefits come from eating fish instead of meat?
