"The Purple Chair ... In the Studio" Debuts
MACOMB, IL -- The University Television original program, "The Purple Chair," hosted by Western Illinois University Director of Donor Relations Amanda Shoemaker, has a new addition, "The Purple Chair ... In the Studio," which will feature a variety of interviews hosted by Shoemaker and other WIU staff. The first "In the Studio" production features 1949 WIU Graduate and WWII Pilot Pete Fulks.

"The Purple Chair" Episode 4...
MACOMB, IL – In the spirit of the witching season, "The Purple Chair" is featuring the history of witchcraft as its late October/early November series.
Jen McNabb, associate professor of history at Western Illinois University and associate director of WIU's Centennial Honors College, takes a seat in the chair, with the University's Horn Field Campus as the natural backdrop, to talk about the witchcraft throughout the ages. McNabb teaches an Honors history class focusing on witchcraft.
The show will air today (Oct. 31) at 11 a.m., 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 1 at 3 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2:30 p.m. Additional show times can be found at wiu.edu/vpaps/utv. "The Purple Chair" can be seen on local cable Channel 3 (Comcast subscribers; Channel 9, MTC subscribers).
The Fall 2013 premiere of "The Purple Chair," a University Television original series, aired in September and featured motivational speaker Bruce Littlefield. The series debuted in April 2013, and featured Joe Decker, a 1998 WIU kinesiology graduate and who was the "The World's Fittest Man."
Upcoming shows for the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semester will focus on such topics cyberbullying; the history of holiday celebrations; art restoration; and lessons learned from the Holocaust.
Amanda Shoemaker, associate director of WIU's Alumni Programs, is the host of "The Purple Chair," while Phil Weiss and Todd Draeger of University Television produce "The Purple Chair."
