Great home/birthday party last night with great friends and a great, spontaneous and long Kubus liveset. That's 3 times great in one sentence.
some great news: the most iconic tracks from the 1999 album 'ffwd>burnout!' (ant-zen) repressed on vinyl, including a brandnew remix of 'mech.ind.' by no one less but SURGEON - hits the streets on march 22 on Berlin techno/electronics label Repitch Recordings!
ffwd>burnout! selected. remastered. remixed. 1999 Files.
Fresh selection from the 1999 infamous techno-industrial-noise album 'ffwd>burnout!' by hypnoskull for ...the first time pressed on vinyl including an exclusive remix by Birmingham Master, Surgeon, and an updated version of his Manifesto.
Pre-order is now available, release date March 22nd!
There's always serious time to blast some random Surgeon set through the speakers, if you ask me. Talking about Surgeon... stay tuned.
EBM you say? That started for me with DAF and ended when Clock DVA made this one in 1993 and brought it to the absolute supreme level.
Grab your copy of the livetape as fast as possible. Great review in the first comment (Spanish) - This was a remarkable show for sure. 2nd time in my life I was involved in a fire-alarm 'incident'. The great Maschinenfest. Pic by Stefan Alt.
One of the best stills ever. It still hurts when I see this picture, couldn't walk straight for 3 months after that night...
10th of april 1993. That's me on the left, with on the right Dirk Serries (Vidna Obmana, Fear Falls Burning, Kodian trio,...) Show of the project 'Das Schreckenskabinett' I was 1/2 part of. Postindustrial/ritual doom vibes. Live at the 6th independent festival in Belgium, on the line up that day also Human Flesh and Anna Homler, to name only a few.
Last week's show at Frequent Defect: Destructive Exertions in Beirut was great, not only because the organisers also organised a talk with me about the background, philosophy and the message behind my music at Riwaq Beirut - رِواق بيروت ,but also because of the time spent, the amazing line-up of the night, full of exciting live and dj-sets, the chance to talk to lots of talented and inspiring young artists and visitors (shout out to all of you), to exchange thoughts and ideas. Brilliant. I can't decide what was the highlight (though driving out of Beirut with Oum Kalthoum loud on the carstereo was magic) This is why I do music. Massive thank you, Frequent Defect
