I met a woman this past weekend. She told me a story about her daughter that has changed my life. Her daughter used to ride the bus with a boy who was always being bullied. One day, she decided to get off of the bus with him, to prevent him... from being bullied. She walked him home and showed him kindness. She had no idea, that this broken, hurting boy had made a suicide pact with another teenager who was also being bullied. They were planning to go home and hang themselves after school. That other teenager took his life that day. This young man changed his mind because a young girl showed him kindness. You never know what a person is going through. My children spend 30 min every morning with God together on their own before they come downstairs. Regal has been the facilitator and tells Nia when to shift gears. He's had them doing 15min reading bible, 10 min meditation , 5 min prayer. ...Well this morning Nia let Regal know that she did not like his system and wanted more time for prayer. It turned into a heated argument between the two, and I had to go upstairs to mediate. Nia suggested a 3-cycle10 min split. Regal started crying and getting really anxious about the change. Nia patiently supported him, but would not back down (love her!). Regal worked through it and reluctantly agreed to her format. Afterwards he said.
