Fabulous pics. Great memories Jane Prout and the gang!!
An Independence Day Treat was had by the batch of cleft patients at NCFPI-Our Lady of Peace Hospital when the Toy Drop Gang led by Shelley Schachter-Cahm came b...y to give fun time to kids and their parents. See some fun photos with our friends from Toy Drop and Shelley's gang (classmates of school days). Many thanks to your cool initiative gals!
Wow! Beautiful pictures. Thanks so much. We LOVE hanging with your kids in Our Lady of Peace... Carole Cahm and Leon, well done... Jane Prout there are no sharks here...
Thank you Shelley Schachter-Cahm, Carole Cahm and to our young volunteer Leon for sending and delivering "Love Gifts" of books and toys for children last Februa...ry 13, 2017 in Our Lady of Peace Hospital in Paranaque City. The cleft children who were in the hospital came from various cities and provinces. How the children were so excited to bring home a teddy or a book. Thanks to Toy Drop donors Tommy Noble @ Air China, Millbrook Park, Langdon, Burrells, and EFG for all your lovely donations.
IN MEMORY OF ALAN CAHM (also known as Chaim Moshe Ben-Reuven), who passed away just last 15 February 2016, his daughter Ms. Shelley Schactner-Cahm, founder of t...he charity TOY DROP visited NCF Philippines with children Mindy and Leon with her friend Jane from U.K. to bring four big bags of toys and books for children in Our Lady of Peace Hospital or OLPH. Thank you to Shelley's friends too: Malu Dy, Vina Andays, Avigail and Jessica for coming in OLPH to accompany Shelley and help out in giving toys & books to the children. Vina has also found her cause in bringing cleft children for treatment in NCF Philippines since 2013. Indeed this good work brought joys and smiles to kids and moms alike!
Other stuff toys were also given to the Foundation of Our Lady of Peace Missions, Inc (FOLPMI's) for their Aeta-beneficiaries in Zambales while some English books were handed for the use of a small community library in Rodriguez, Rizal.
The cleft children with their moms found an impromptu "shopping" as they happily picked a toy and a book they liked. Thank you to Ms. Lily (RSW of FOLPMI) for welcoming us all in the Foundation's office. NCF Phils.and Tahanang Walang Hagdanan volunteers assisted the children for the TOY DROP choose-and-pick activity.
Shelley, a lawyer and mom of two from London, said the inspiration for Toy Drop hit after a six-week trip to Manila, in the Phillipines, where she donated her daughter’s toys to an orphanage. Since then on, parents and children in the Jewish communities in UK found Shelley a great channel to share joys to less privileged children by donating their gently-loved toys and books to Shelley's charity:Toy Drop.
" TOY DROP promotes a Culture of Caring"
Nowadays when many things and stuff abound and many charities exist amidst places where there are so much lack or mater...ial insufficiency, we think that giving-is-a-must and receiving-is-a right. Yet we miss the point that GIVING OR SHARING JOYFULLY and RECEIVING and ACCEPTING WITH GRATITUDE are deeds that define and honor us as persons.
NCF Philippines thanks "THE TOY DROP" for their visits to uplift volunteers, mothers and children in Our Lady of Peace Hospital last May 23, 2016. In the love and kindness that Toy Drop-volunteers Jane Prout, Shelley Schachter-Cahm and her mother shared and in turn, the appreciation and thankfulness that celft patients received and accepted their gifts, honor and respect for each other are seen. What great lessons in caring were learned by both GIVER AND RECEIVER simultaneously! In this sense, Joy and Happiness is shared together!

Thank you Naomi Goldman and your amazing donors. We can't do this without you and it's humbling to hear how quick you said "Yes!" the moment I asked for help...
