"[Fasting Ramadan] is a limited number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of days are to be made up. And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] - a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person [each day]...Qu'ran 2:184

Here we see express permission given by The Most High to suspend an actual pillar of Islam if the situation calls for it.
...So why is suspending the annual bloodbath on Eid and calling for leaving animals alone so offensive to so many Muslims?
Do not support industries that factory farm God's creatures, forcibly breed then and mass slaughter them.
The war on animals actually causes MORE human starvation, more environmental degradation and more species extinction. It's also a leading cause of coronary heart disease and many cancers.
There are much better ways for all.

The Ottomans revived the care of all animals by establishing practices that thrive in Turkey to this day. Here we see old photos of Turks caring for several animals.
They didn't poison and shoot them like many of today's heartless Muslim majority societies.
The Ottomans also provided water for birds during summer, fed wolves in the winter, and treated injured storks at a Stork Hospital before setting them free.
...Their mosques and courtyards were decorated with birdhouses and water fountains so the atmosphere of their buildings always had a connection to nature.
We also marvel at:
*Müreselli İbrahim Ağa of İzmir donated 100 kuruş annually to the Ödemiş Yeni Mosque for fostering storks around the mosque in 1307.
*In 1544, Lütfi Pasha granted a fountain, watering hole and pool for travelers and their animals that passed through the district of Tire in İzmir, and in 1558, the governor of Adana, Ramazanoğlu Piri Pasha, donated a meadow for mounts to graze on.
*In the certificate-charter of the Hacı Seyyid Mustafa Foundation in Rumelihisarı, it was written, "Stray dogs should be fed with fresh bread worth 30 akçe (silver coins) every day." Furthermore, the Çandarluzade Mehmed Bey Foundation donated a farmhouse for the care of pigeons' in 1707.
