Enjoyed the beer, but service was slow and the lack of a changing table in the restrooms was disappointing. There were at least ten families with little kids while we were there and considering how kid friendly Richmond breweries are, I'm always so disappointed to see that need not being met. Certainly won't be a place I can come often, because we usually have the baby with us. Hope to see that issue resolved so we can spend more time at Veil. Afficher la suite

I took my 96 year old mother and my sister-in-law. Purpose of going was to purchase beer for my son who lives in Chicago. Got him a t-shirt and beer. Mission accomplished. In the meantime, we enjoyed a beer. This is a very friendly bar, staff well trained, and I will go back when I have a designated driver. We live in NC. This is a very lively place. Afficher la suite

Only had a chance to pop in and buy a couple of cases but the staff was super nice and the beer is top notch. I'm jealous we don't live closer because it looks like a great place to enjoy some beers. Keep up the good work! Afficher la suite

Okay beer but, poor bar layout, poor bar management will make this a not return for me. There is no reason why I should wait in line with 8 bartenders working and not be served once I reach the bar.

There is nothing very wrong with this place except for the IPAs that are the bulk of the menu.. also you can smell hot garbage from your patio. Sorry

Stood in line for 5 minutes. Bartender waved me over, then left. Stood there for 2 minutes trying to make eye contact with any of the SEVEN other bartenders there, not a one looked my way. The rest of my group was served their beer without a word. In the dozens of breweries I have been to across multiple states, I have never experienced service this spectacularly inefficient and rude. Go to literally any other brewery, the veil seems to think it should be your privilege to spend money on their beer and get treated like shit and thank them for it.

If you want the Veil experience, get an average beer and do your taxes on paper. It'll be just as pleasant and you won't have to spend 15 minutes looking for parking.

Went to the veil yesterday for the first time.... it's so happen to be there two year anniversary! Had a great time and met some really cool out of owners and managed to pick up a anniversary box set and a coconut sleeping forever... but I did for get to buy a glass. Afficher la suite

Good beer but the staff reminded me of JR Smith’s bonehead play last night. I ordered the Alone IPA and was told the keg was kicked and there was not anymore - choose something else they told me. Came back later that night and it was back miraculously...somehow. Very strange Afficher la suite

Love it here. Great atmosphere, great beer and great service. They release beers every Tuesday and I’m also looking forward to their fruit Gose! They never disappoint. Left with 3-4 packs yesterday.

What can you say? It’s The Veil. Truly lives up to its name and reputation. I brought home 2 cases. Never Never More More was amazing. Both blue and green Ferrari also remarkable.

Favorite brewery ever. Me and my fiancé are avid beer drinkers and lived in Richmond for 6 months and were very lucky to have Veil nearby. We live in Newport News now and still make trips back for the can releases and to drink a few. Afficher la suite

Immediately I thought, this place is too busy, too much for me to handle. However, after a very fast wait in line, we were greeted at the bar by a very attentive staff member who provided us with our first two beers. We chose the Never Never Heardofit Heardofit,
Veil’s double blueberry Gose...wonderful, and the We We Ded Ded, triple IPA. The best IPA I’ve had as of yet. We enjoyed the company of new found friends around the gas fire on a cold Saturday night. It was a great evening.

Customer service was great. Atmosphere was amazing. The beer I had literally still had me talking about it the next day. This was my first time going but I’ll definitely be back!!

Awesome beer. The only problem is the noise level is in orbit. This is a problem with all the breweries with their concrete ceilings and no baffling. The ones who mitigate, COTU and Triple Crossing are much quieter

Today we brewed a saison with barley, wheat, spelt, and buckwheat. We pumped the wort into the coolship at above room temperature while slowly blending in saison yeast. We will allow the beer to open ferment at warm temperatures in the coolship for 5-6 days. Then we will drain the coolship into freshly dumped Pinot Noir barrels from Napa. Next we will inoculate the barrels with various cultures and bring the barrels over to our barrel storage facility. There the barrels will mature and develop complexity and acidity for 1-2 years before packaging. #vabeer #rvabeer #rva #scottsaddition

🏔 This Tuesday July 31st will be the debut of Brenner Pass: Grand Cru! 🏔

🏔 Brenner Pass: Grand Cru is the next offering to be released from our Funkhaüst. This incredible offering begins as our collaboration with Brenner Pass that we named House Beer. Designed to be a simplistic farmhouse inspired ale, House Beer is made with 6-row, spelt, unmalted wheat, floral American hops, and French saison yeast fermented in freshly dumped red wine French oak barrels. Typically, after 3 weeks, we extract the beer, carbonate and serve it fresh. For the Grand Cru version, we inoculate the barrels with our house culture and allowed them to develop for up to 10 months. We then extracted the barrels and bottle conditioned for over 3 months. Clocking in at 4.2%, this beer turned out beautiful. Notes of fresh cut grass, bright citrus peel, fresh baked bread, juicy Chardonnay, balanced acidity, and zippy carbonation. There will be approx 400x bottles available. $20+tax/750ml bottle. 6x bottles pp.

🏔We also filled a limited amount of 1.5L magnums of Brenner Pass: Grand Cru. There will approx 25x 1.5L magnums available tomorrow. $60+tax/1.5L magnum. 1x 1.5L magnum pp.

🏔Hope to see y’all on Tuesday July 31st at 4pm for our weekly can release! 🤙
