On Monday, March 19 your MP will vote on the proposed Canadian Navigable Waters Act. Please take a moment to call on your MP to vote down this weak legislation in favour of the far stronger protections for lakes and rivers you and I know are needed.
The proposed changes for the CNWA fall short of the Trudeau government’s 2015 promise of restoring protections and implementing modern safeguards. The act still exempts pipeline projects like Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain pipelin...e and the risks it poses to the 1,355 waterways it crosses.
Send a letter to your Member of Parliament or call your Member of Parliament before Monday’s vote to urge them to scrap the proposed CNWA and table much strong legislation that enshrines the UN-recognized human rights to water and sanitation and the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

CELEBRATE WORLD WATER DAY 2018 WITH WELLINGTON WATER WATCHERS
Join us at the Bookshelf eBar for the Grand Opening of our Story Inspired Art Exhibit on March 22nd at 6:30PM.
Protecting clean and accessible water in the Great Lakes is at a crossroads. To help us build a stronger connection with water, Great Lakes Commons began a project called Water Friendship. which inspired Wellington Water Watchers to work with Christine Bretherick, Creativity Matters. Christine facilitated ...learning and creativity with Grade 1's and 2's at Victory Public School. These amazing students created art inspired by stories about water, and this is the artwork that will be on display!
Hope you can join us to see what has grown from that one seed of an idea!

"Disregard for the environment contributes inevitably towards climate change, which is devastating many areas on the planet."
With your help, we can turn the Greenbelt blue.
It's the right choice for our future.
