Stayed on Friday night and were lucky to have the top room. Absolutely beautiful and the extra attention to detail made all the difference. Great bar too!

One of the smartest places in Newquay for a chilled evening away from the norm. Great range of unusual drinks and good service.

Would recommend it to anyone.

We had the best long weekend staying here - the hosts and managers were excellent and recommended great things to do and places to eat. The rooms are lovely and we slept amazingly! Best pub in Newquay I reckon; interesting selection of drinks, cosy atmosphere but you can certainly have a knees up ;)

Stylish, relaxed, staff are attentive and knowledgeable. Dogs welcome too.

I like how any negative reviews seem to disappear! Can't take criticism! My partner booked for us to go for a few days in the summer (a pretty busy time of year) but due to a short notice deployment f...rom work as I am in the military we wouldn't be able to make it, we wrote to them asking for a refund as it was difficult circumstances, they denied this without giving or a decent reason apart from we didn't pay extra! We understand that companies have policy's for a little bit of empathy would have been nice! It's not like they wouldn't have been able to fill the room! We were planning to book for a later date but no chance of that now! Let's see how long this one stays up for!!!!! See More

We decided we wanted to go away for the bank holiday weekend- it was a very last minute decision, fortunately we found 55 Yards. We loved our 3 night stay, we stayed in room 1. It was spacious and dec...orated to a high standard. We loved the little quirky touches that was made. Me and my husband love the idea of help our selves to breakfast, there was plenty of choice (fresh fruit daily, bread, bagels, smoked salmon, salami selection, fresh milk and juice). We could help our selves whenever we wanted with no time restrictions! Which is handy when you feel like a lazy morning!
The bar itself has a relaxing feel and again filled with quirky stuff. Kate and Paul (the owners) were very welcoming and friendly. They went through the best restaurants around Newquay and was very happy to book a table for us.
Thankyou for a great stay, we will be returning in the near future and will recommend you to others.

Me and my hubby booked into this hotel for one night,the room was lovely,and Kate was very welcoming, she showed us where everything was.Was a bit dissapointed that we didn't have a very good nights s...leep as we could hear everybody in the bar downstairs and the other guests in their rooms,the booking in form said that the place was soundproof, but it clearly wasn't. It also stated that cookies and wine or champagne was available to us,but it wasn't in our room,as my daughter paid a lot of money for us to enjoy all that was stated on the form,she was unhappy that we didn't get what it said. My husband and I decided to have a short break in Newquay for the first time and we stayed here at 55 yards. We have the best stay and were warmly welcomed by Kate and Paul. The hotel was lovely, room...s had their own character and were super cosy. All the staff including the bar staff were just so great and gave us lots of advice on places to go and things to do.

We would definitely recommend this place to anyone and hope to return in the future for another great break!

Just stayed here for 3 nights, 5* all round! The lovely husband & wife who own this place are so helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms are modern/shabby chic, perfectly clean. The hotel is in perfect locat...ions, off the high street, 1 minute walk to the beach, lots of restaurants around. If you want to go anywhere in Cornwall it's only about 45 minutes anywhere!
The best hotel/b&b myself and husband had stayed in.
Highly recommend! Staying here is a definite must!

A really fabulous chilled bar with a superb array of gins to work your way through as well as a great wine list. A fab atmosphere with knowledgeable, friendly and extremely welcoming staff and if you ...are really lucky you might get an oyster thrown in for good measure too! I recently booked to stay here at the end of July with my partner, and paid upfront in full, unfortunately we've had to cancel, due to my partner being in the Army and he is being posted away for a fe...w months. I expressed to Paul, the owner, how sensitive the situation is and that it was circumstances beyond our control. I was told very matter of fact that a refund will not be issued, despite a reasonable amount of notice given-therefore we haven't only lost a deposit or had to pay a cancellation fee, we have lost all the money we previously paid. I am disappointed in the way this has been handled inconsiderately and is disrespectful to British troops. I understand hotels have policies they have to adhere to, however, given the circumstances I thought it would have been handled differently and certainly with empathy. See More

The price of the wine is far to high - 7.50 a glass for something we had never heard of - and I am a wine drinker - wasn't exceptional. The bottle was 29!. Beer was limited. Not impressed at just over... 10 for glass of wine and half of lager. Surroundings are just ok - bar staff didn't have a smile between them and menu was very limited. Came in last night. Met by owner and very friendly staff. Drank some amazing wine, ate lots of olives and bread and met some really lovely people. Will definitely be back and will recommend to all my friends.
