Happy holidays everyone! I hope yours is as great as mine has been so far.

I know I haven't posted recently, but I wanted to share this. I'm deep in the macro edits of #TheStormUnveiled, and I came across a passage I absolutely adore. Enjoy! #amediting #epicfantasy

“How easily you seem to forget, no matter what state of mind or existence you happen to be in,” he replied, leaning forward until their faces were only a few inches apart. “I don’t care what changes you go through, or what happens from now until eternity passes. You are my everything.” His tone dropped to a whisper. “I would die without you, because you are the air I breathe. You are the lightning that sparks my will to live, the shadow cast to keep me anchored to myself. So, tell me… why do you keep assuming you have to go through this alone?”

And now, instead of writing like I meant to, I'm reading So You Want to Be a Wizard by Diane Duane... all thanks to the 2+ hour long conversation on favorite childhood books I've been holding on my profile. lol

Gah, but this makes my heart warm, reading this again. It's a huge influence on my writing and my love for reading. This paragraph from the first chapter aptly describes this feeling. #amreading #dianeduane #SoYouWanttoBeaWizard

She still loved the place. She loved any library, big or little; there was something about all that knowledge, all those facts waiting patiently to be found that never failed to give her a shiver. When friends couldn't be found, the books were always waiting with something new to tell. Life that was getting too much the same could be shaken up in a few minutes by the picture in a book of some ancient temple newly discovered deep in a rain forest, a fuzzy photo of Uranus with its up-and-down rings, or a prismed picture taken through the faceted eye of a bee.

The youngest counselor hissed, his eyes narrowing. “Do not speak that vile creature’s name.”
He fell silent when her eyes slid, slowly, to land upon him. Her voice slipped through her still, parted lips. “Dem Veni, I am no longer the young Paaluv the counsel sees me as. All has been revealed to me; my future, my past lives, and my eternity within the hell that is the Future Sense. Your demands have forced upon me a life of everlasting knowledge. Do not presume to order me int...o silence when you are among those who force me to speak.”
A hint of anger bloomed while her thoughts echoed through their minds. Dem Veni shrank back against his seat, while others gaped. After a minute, Ehn Tama bowed her head.
“You have our undivided attention, Uhn Daya.”

Life is crazy busy lately. I can't tell you how many things I've been up to. Why? I bet you thought I was going to say something cliche like, "Because I'd have kill you." Nope. The list is just long. At any rate, I've been trying to set up my website, freelance edit, edit for OWS Ink, and find time for writing... [ 149 more words ]
