I had ordered a custom messenger bag earlier this year. All in all it’s not a bad bag, solid construction, interior organization could be better. The internal side pockets are too small for a normal... sized water bottle which is a disappointment but for the most part I was happy with the purchase and performance.
My real issue came when the internal material began to crack in two places after less than a year of use and it wasn’t even daily use as I switch out to a backpack on days when I travel by plane. I sent it in for warranty work by and was told that it could be fixed but I would be required to pay the $25 fee and it would be 6-8 weeks before I would have the bag back. When I enquired as to why I would be incurring a fee since this was obviously a breakdown in the materials I received no response and of course I am still waiting to get my bag back. I would advise anyone looking to check out Chrome and Mission Workshop messenger bags, both brands have a lifetime guarantee, are solidly USA made bags, and seem to be more focused on their customers and less focused on building an overly expensive brand.

I used to be a huge fan of Timbuk2 - have bought dozens of bags from them over the years. My husband recently got a larger luggage piece that fell apart the first time he used it (the interior, plasti...c bottom support broke into tiny pieces). We begrudgingly spent over $40 to have it shipped back so that Timbuk2 could "evaluate" it, only then to get a generic, haphazard response back about a discount towards a new item. Their customer service is so terrible that if you follow up with additional questions, you get put back to the bottom of the cue. I don't know what's changed with this company of late, but I don't see us buying anything from them ever again. So disappointing. See More

I ordered a custom bag as a gift and it came damaged. I emailed customer service and it said the response time was over 7 days and if you emailed again you would go to the bottom of the list. It has b...een 12 days, still no reply. When I tried calling I was on hold far too long and had to hang up. The over all backpack was great, however the shipping bag was very flimsy and that is how the bag was damaged during shipping. I do not recommend spending the money (especially on a custom bag) if it needs to ship any distance. See More

Used to love timbuk2 until they stopped making the extra large messenger and really went cheap on the new messenger redesign. Less pockets, weaker material, and flimsy strap. Come on guys. Don’t take ...that route.

Also, customer service was pretty bad. I ordered a bag recently just because it had a huge discount. Ordered the wrong size, called about 20 minutes later to cancel, was told it was impossible to stop the order because it had already been processed.... Yeah, not true at all. It didn’t ship for another week. Instead of paying to send it back I just gave it away.

Greed will be your demise timbuk2.

Jeeze guys, you're killing me.
I currently have 3 messenger bags, 2 backpacks (have owned 2 additional backpacks), 2 accessory pouches, 1 cycling cap (poor fit great finish though), reflective t...ails, velcro scilencers, several cool bottle openers, and a medium sized gunmetal grey Snoop camera insert.
You need to offer the Snoop inserts again. I don't even see that crappy, boxy looking one which doesn't fit nicely in a messenger bag and replaced the Snoop (thankfully). You've chosen not to market to photogs. At least you should bring back the messenger bag shaped medium Snoop insert. You're missing stars guys! Great bags, but you're missing out. #bringbackthesnoop (Just made that up.)

Bag fell apart after one use within 30 days of purchase.. Posted here, emailed them. was told money could not be returned as i used it. Um. Generally, the 30 day policy covered if it falls apart. Y'a...ll asked me to post pics, zxel busted, wear on bag made it look like i'd dragged it around a year, zipped tab pulled off, then nothing.

And i think you deleted my my post. Nice customer service.

I expect more. C'mon guys. It busted up right away. This is what you offer?

We ordered a gift card 11/18 thinking it would easily arrive to our daughter by her birthday, 11/26. The day we ordered, the eGift card option was not available for some reason. Imagine our surprise, discover on 11/27 it had not even shipped. A call to customer service was sent to voice mail and the email not responded to until 11/30, stating they would get it shipped that day. Tracking the package, it won't arrive to her until the middle of next week. I could understand if we had ordered a CUSTOM product. But we did not. We are not impressed at all with your customer service or shipping departments. Hopefully the bag will be all it is suppose to be. See More

I recently purchased my first Classic Messenger (small) from your company. Upon first blush, I must say I am impressed. I ordered the Army colorway and it's better than I expected, a lovely deep olive.... It has plenty of room and organization to carry my daily essentials and makes everything so much easier to find. A beautiful utilitarian creation indeed! See More

I've had several of these bags in college and at work. I'm a social worker in community mental health who has worked in the city and now out in rural Alaska and has done multiple home visits and now t...ravels often. The bags are solid and Timbuk2 stood by their product when my one bag was worn after years of use. I highly recommend them. See More

I’ve probably put over to 100,000 travel miles on my messenger bag/backpack since I bought in Seattle in 2016. Simply put, the bag has been all over the world. Despite the abuse, it still looks nearly... brand-new! I absolutely love this bag and would buy another, naturally, I highly their products to anyone! See More

I bought a Timbuk2 Hudson laptop briefcase last year and it was delivered on December 6th. I use it most days for work and in a few weeks by mid Jan the leather handles have already started to crack a...nd degrade.
This is disappointing from a company that "stands behind the legendary quality and craftsmanship of all our products"......your products fall apart after a few weeks.

My kids splurged and bought me a custom Timbuk2 bag a couple years ago. My daughter had a bag and I was jealous of how fashionable it was and how hardy it was. Unfortunately, after light use, (I mean,... I am not trekking on Everest, I just carry it from my car to my classroom, and back,) the strap totally detached this past weekend while on a Professional Development trip! To make matters worse, when I went to order a new one, ALL of the cool, feminine, colored fabrics were missing from the choices! Boo on you, Timbuk2! =( See More

Stitching is horrible and the alignment is off. The bag was 70% off, but so was the quality. Would never buy another, even with the discount. I will stick with other name brands.

I have a D-Lux messenger bag purchased August 2015. The internal rubbery layer started to decay a year after purchase. Part of the bottom edge has also started to give out stitch looks intact. Not muc...h material for stitch to hold, i think. Approached the local store and was told its not covered by the Lifetime Warranty. See More

I discussed my problem with customer service over email regarding my backpack handle breaking after 2x of use. Customer support was aweful and after I sent a picture they insisted it wasn't a manufac...turer defect. Information was rude and I had it 11 months. I asked them to show it to someone else and they came back with the same answer. I will never buy from them again especially what I paid for it. See More
