Keum Boo: an ancient process in which a thin sheet of 24 karat gold is applied to silver. This process includes firs depletion-gilding the sterling silver and then heating and burnishing the gold sheet onto the piece, creating a permanent diffusion bond.
I’m making a small run of keum boo pieces that will be available online and in my studio later this week. Shoot me a message if you have your eye on anything!
In celebration of one year in my current studio, some lame person stole this bracelet from my studio.
It carried with it hours of my time and effort, my own hard-earned dollars, and a little bit of my creativity.
I feel angry and sad that somebody looked directly into my face as I welcomed them into my studio and then decided I was worth stealing from.
I don’t know exactly which visitor today spirited this bracelet away, but I hope it at least makes them happy.
I, however, will be shopping for a good security camera.
