I did the Best of Italy in September and it was the best time ever!!! Our tour guide Paolo was the best!!! He helped each guest make their trip perfect by going... above and beyond helping with everyone's special needs/requests, entertained us on those looong bus rides, showed us so many beautiful hidden gems I never would have found on my own, and he took the time to show me and my aunt where the library in Venice was that we just could not find but had to see! He seems to know everything about Italy!!! Also Massimo our bus driver kept us safe during our journey and did an amazing job with our group!! If all tour guides and drivers are like them I will definitely book another trip soon!!! Perfect trip!!! See More

Britain & Ireland Delight is a great itinerary! A good mixture of optional and included excursion and having a bit of time in almost every stop, I really like a...ll the things included.

Chris Tremlett is an excellent guide who is very well prepared. Not only does he takes good care of all the needs of all our tour members carefully, his insights are on point and well thought through. From poetry to songs to stories, Chris did his research well and really add to the itinerary.

Martin is also an excellent safe driver and then is was pristine.

Thank you very much! Keep up the good work!

Been with the tour twice but call it third time unlucky, arrived at Rome and went to the trafalgar counter for assistance, waited almost 50min and there was no ...one at the counter. Thank goodness for the nice people at the other counters who helped us out with transport and questions ! We know it's Christmas and New Years time but if you have your counter open, at least have a staff there or close the counter altogether !!! See More

I have recently completed my 4th ( Best if Italy) and my 5th ( Best of Greece) tours with Trafalgar and again they did not let me down. Both tours were extremel...y well organised and went without a hitch.
Firstly, tour directors, Marissa and Ourania, were both fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and always happy to answer questions and queries. They were also fun to be with and certainly brightened everyone's day, each day of the trips.
I cannot say enough about both of them, they gave life to the tours and were brilliant.
Secondly the bus drivers, Juliano and Cristos, amazing. They were both very polite and helpful and both great drivers. I really do now know how they got through some of the places we visited but they did it with ease and a smile on their faces. Again, like the directors made the tour fun.
I would certainly recommend both these tours, enjoyed every minute.

The Great European Tour was the best trip that we have taken...First of all, I would like to thank Richard for the wonderful trip .....What a great tour guide.......full of information, caring, and a great personality. He created an atmosphere where every one on the bus became a family. The local specialist were full of great information....The bus driver Alexandro was so friendly and professional..All in all, the only thing I wish could have happen is to have a day off half way through to catch our breath, maybe sleep in , maybe swim, clean clothes and just have a recover time......Love this trip and will looking forward to our next Trafaigar trip. Ireland & Scotland Tour 2016 with Trafalgar--would not choose this tour company again. Our tour guide Matt and drivers were fantastic. The hotels were mediocr...e and most of them were far from city center so getting back and forth was inconvenient. We cruised past very interesting sites on the bus and stopped at other sites that were not interesting and stayed for too long. Our hotels in Scotland were horrible and were out in the middle of nowhere. I had looked forward to the Isle if Skye for a long time. We got in late and left early with very little time to ourselves! We passed up great landmarks to stop for an hour and a half to see a fake Loch Ness monster and of course, a gift shop. I am very disappointed ! I thought Trafalgar was an upscale company that I could trust with an epic trip. Not so! See More

So disappointed in my experience booking our first overseas holiday with Trafalgar.
We asked to book the Costsaver Britain and Ireland delights and after check...ing our invoice we have been booked on the more expensive Trafalgar Britain and Ireland highlights.
Our excitement over our first trip has turned to disappointment. We were assured that this was the Costsaver tour when we paid and now we find ourselves struggling to find extra spending money.
Not only has that been discouraging, our travel agent Maddie has spent close to 10 hours on hold over 3 consecutive days.
Our excitement is fast disappearing we didn't expect booking a tour to be this hard.

I have just recently returned home from the Trafalgar European Splendour Tour which started from Rome.
I am still buzzing - I had such an amazing time travell...ing through Europe with Trafalgar.
Martin was such an awesome Tour Guide with so much local knowledge (both modern and History) and with all the behind scenes organisation, made our tour seamless and stress free. On top of that we had a great driver in Pancrazio that kept us safe and on time.
I chose to do all the optional extras that our tour director recommended for our group to do together and so glad I did. It was so magical and just awesome.
We had a great group of people on our tour from many different countries. We are now linked up with our emails and some have already started sharing photos.
I wouldn’t hesitate to travel with Trafalgar again and would certainly recommend friends and family to travel with them.

Thank you Trafalgar for making my first ever long-haul journey (from Australia) so memorable and perfect.

Grazie
Vivienne

I did quite a bit of research before booking a trip with Trafalgar and I can honestly say they did an excellent job from beginning to end! Our tour guide, Muri...s made the trip perfect. He surprised us with desserts, fresh cheese, and many other thoughtful touches that made the group feel special. Our bus driver Salvatori was wonderful. Not sure how he drove so well in difficult streets but he didn't even break a sweat.

The itinerary was well designed and managed so well. The only area I would recommend improvement would be with a few of the local specialist. They could use some tips on leading groups.

Finally, I give trafalgar 5stars and we would absolutely recommend them to others as well as book another trip with them! Well done!!

I couldn't have been happier with my Trafalgar Tour on the England and Scotland Heritage Cost Saver Tour! We truly got to experience Scotland and England by vis...iting the countryside and cities. My favorite optional tour was the highland farm tour with Border Collies, and my favorite scenes were in the Cotswolds, Lake District, and Scottish highlands. We made so many friends we keep in touch with from this tour.

Steve and Mitch were our wonderful tour guide and bus driver. They both had amazing customer service and rather clever humor. The tour was well-planned, offering a detailed history of the areas as we passed by and traveled through. Accommodations were excellent for 3-star hotels, particularly the highland hotel in Scotland and the hotel in Gloucester. As a traveling group of three young women, we were impressed by the cost, benefits, and discounts on travel, airfare, and other attractions. We loved having the option of going on excursions that we wanted to visit or planning our own adventure. Having the time on our own in London was perfect since there is so much to see and everyone has different interests on a tour. I will definitely plan a trip with Trafalgar again.

We have always wanted to see the Italian lakes in detail after going past them on our 1st Trafalgar tour - the Grand European trip - way back in 2004.
So this ...year on our 8th Trafalgar tour in 2016 we finally made it!
Our #besttourguide Chris Daley Trafalgar, & Guieseppe our excellent driver, took us around on the 6th August 16 trip of #HighlightsOfTheItalianLakes tour & we saw it all with an amazing itinerary which delivered all that it promised. This tour is easy paced yet absolutely full of fabulous scenery, great cities, fantastic buildings, monuments & loads of history. Chris delivers it all with enthusiasm, excellent time keeping & with lots of background information & snippets of each & every place & all of the history. There's nothing that Chris doesn't know about Europe as his passion for traveling, the connections he wants us to understand in its history, & us getting the most out of our trip is always apparent in his daily actions. He's also a lot of fun to be with!
This tour has a balance of organised time & great optional experiences - as well as enough downtime to feel that you're not rushed! We recommend you do them all! The food & drinks are great too!
We highly recommend Highlights of the Italian Lakes tour (Cost Saver was our choice & reported on here) to anyone who is thinking of a Trafalgar tour & having a great time with like minded traveling people - who you will soon find have become part of your "bus family" - & many of them indeed even friends for life! And hopefully, you'll get Chris Trafalgar to also show you & yours around this amazing part of Italy! It's so worth seeing as it's so beautiful...

Trip: Best of Italy
Tour Director: Rosella
Driver: Carlo...

Just finished the Best of Italy Tour. This trip was amazing and this could only be done my Rosella's commitment to ensure that her tour group aka family only received the best. Also notable to me to mention that Carlo our driver only enhanced the experience by his courteousness and kindness. If you would like to do an organized tour group and would like to explore different countries this is the way to go.

This was my first-ever time traveling to anywhere in Europe. I will always remember this trip to Ireland. Our tour guide, Bernard, was just phenomenal! He and o...ur driver, Tom, made a fantastic team, and we were able to see some things just off the beaten path, or views of the coast that just my breath away. Truly amazing! See More

On my recent trip "Jewels of Italy", it will always be memorable. Our tour director and the local specialists were well informed and terrific. They fully answ...ered some of the questions we had in great detail. The sites are unforgettable (this was my first trip to Italy). I was particularly fond of Venice, Verona and Burano, three beautiful cities to see. The entire trip was more than I had anticipated. I would travel with your company again. I would hope that you have a trip to the French Riveria.which I very much want to see. See More

We completed the Britain and Ireland grandeur tour and overall we were disappointed. All our careful planning went awry. We had 4 hotel changes as Trafalgar dec...ided to run two parallel tours which we were told is quite uncommon. Our tour guide when we questioned her why we were staying at a truck stop 45mins out of where we were meant to be (the other tour bus stayed in our hotel) she said to complain to Trafalgar. We had already sent emails on the Trafalgar website but we never heard back from them. This was just one incident of many things that happened on this tour and while the bad hotels, changes to itineraries etc really disappointed us the British scenery did not. It was fantastic! We were not happy with Trafalgar as a tour company, lots of people were talking about how we were treated by our Tour Director Maria Holzamer - she was very rude, abrupt, uncaring and berated the whole coach over the microphone on more than one occasion. We had no right of reply to anything she told everyone off for! The relief Driver Ian was brilliant, funny and great to be around! So Trafalgar - make sure the face of your company (your Tour Director) is who you want them to be as we were definitely put off travelling with your company again. Never prepay gratuities either! Just finishing up our 14 day Amazing Ireland tour and it was fantastic! Our Tour Director, Stephanie (Glas-Thompson) made the entire experience the best it cou...ld be. Her knowledge of the sites and towns we visited, coupled with her wonderful sense of humor, added to our enjoyment of the entire trip. Our driver, Hugo, was skilled in handling our bus and continually looked out for our comfort and safety. We highly recommend this itinerary, a full trip around the entire coast of north and south Ireland. It couldn't have been better! #SimplyTrafalger See More

We went on the grand tour and had Patrick Sidney ( tour guide) and Roberto Trulli (driver) and had a great time , even though we were on the go for 21 days myse...lf and the rest of the people on here coach ( I think) would be unanimous in saying that it was one of the best times we had touring in our lifes. Patrick was our Pappa bear watching over us at all times like mother hen and also motivating us and giving us almost information overload which got us smoothly through the new daily situations we faced . We did all the optional extras on the tour schedule as most people did and the tour was well planned and not to strenuous even for the older ones like me. The only issue I have is the food in some destinations was not great but we worked around that . Also the locations we visited where beautiful and the hotels not bad . Thank you Trafalgar and anyone else involved in our trip for an amazing 21 days and our group of people who travelled with us for making our trip wonderful See More

Just came back from my European Delight trip (Italy-Switzerland-France) couple of days ago and I'm having sepanx! Enjoyed the trip tremendously. I've met wonder...ful people both young & not so young. We were so lucky to have Martin as our travel director. He was so accomodating, knowledgeable, helpful, very patient in answering all our questions and equally funny. We got to arrived safe to every places we went to because of the driving skills of Carlo. This is the kind of trip I am looking forward to have next time because I was stress-free See More

Hi I have recently returned home from not just one amazing, mind blowing tour but two. England and Scotland Heritage and also I was fortune to be on the tail en...d of Paris Delights. Many thanks to Douglas Moss who arranged everything for the Paris Delight tour even the meeting point is arranged. Thanks. Must say what an amazing, fantastic tour director Selene Tomlinson is. Her caring ways, her knowledge sharing and the directions she gave (just a few to name) were out standing all the time. Wouldn't hesitate to book another tour with Trafalgar if Selene was the tour director. Also the coach driver Paul was awesome too. Great job two the both of them. Many thanks Melanie See More
