UCLA moved up the #NCAASwimDive leaderboard, as the pair picked up nine points Friday.


Each advanced into a final round Friday.
200 Free Relay quartet, Belanger, Liu, Schanz, Soe and Verger Gourson were all in action Thursday.

The 800 Free Relay record eclipsed the old mark by nearly three seconds.

Ciara Monahan qualified for the final and took 14th, while Alice Yanovsky finished 30th in the 57-diver field. #GoBruins

HOW TO ...DO A FLIP-TURN. Why should every triathlete learn how to do this even though they won’t need it in a race? The answer is simple: do you get to hold onto a wall and take a breath ever 25 in a race? Nope. A flip-turn allows you to swim continuously and uninterrupted. It will teach you how to maintain speed, increase your lung capacity, set you up for success for the next 25, and make you faster in the pool! [STEP 1: FULL SOMERSAULT] In the middle of the pool take two-three strokes and tuck into a somersault trying to get as many spins as possible. Keys are - chin tucked, and arms wrapped tightly! [STEP TWO: OPEN STREAMLINE] In the middle of the pool take two - three strokes, somersault until you feet touch the water and then launch your body into a tight streamline so that you end up facing the sky (hardest step!) [STEP 3: THE LANDING] Start mid pool and swim into the wall. Flip turn (the timing/distance will take practice) and stay “stuck” on the wall. Key notes 📝 : feet should be facing UP, feet should be about shoulder width apart, and you should be in a squat position. Do not push off! [STEP 4: FULL FLIP-TURN] From mid pool swim into the wall and do a full flip-turn. KEY 🔑 : you must push off on your back and rotate to your front through the streamline. You probably won’t get as far as I do but aim to get to the flags. Bonus: don’t breath your first stroke off the wall!!! Let me know if you have any questions! 💥 🏊‍♂️💪🏻👍🏼
