Ok peeps, is there a uke group in the Tweed/Murwillumbah area? Miss Amber and Stukulele? Sue Stenning?

So this happened...the local journo visited my beginners group yesterday and interviewed some of the students and took lots of photos. Then she asked if we could play a song and she would go LIVE to the local paper FB site. I asked the students and they all agreed, so we went into one of their first songs, The Beat Goes On by Sonny Bono and they nailed it! I now look forward to the story in the paper next Wednesday.

She written and recorded by Charles Aznavour.....also Elvis Costello. Played on an Ohana TK35G Tenor Ukulele with a low G tuning.

Do you know why learning scales is so important? Well I do but I didn't know back when I was first starting out. It's a slow reveal.

Doooooown in the Riverina (in the Riverina). Geez I haven't thought of that song for about 30 or so years. Here's another upcoming Festival for the uke enthusiast.

The other afternoon, a woman contacted a radio station in Sydney to complain about her children's school having a ukulele group. She was very anti ukulele and wasn't at all pleased about this dreadful instrument being introduced to her children. It hasn't sat well with me. Why is there such animosity toward this instrument? Why???? It is the most amazing tool to teach music and it brings a lot of joy to many people. What's not to love?

And the winner is ... Do you know Robert?
