Great effort by the Retrievers today at the NCWA Mid East Conference Championships. 1st place finishes for Deonte Carter (125) and Martin Mitchell, 2nd for Azamat Akhmedov (157) and Brandon Buckingham (174), 3rd for Will Sadowski (133) and Chukwudi Kalu (285), and national qualifiers in Nathan Abellano (125), Tyler Rendina (157), Anthony Solis (165), and CJ Ashby (174) lead the way. Deonte Carter was named the Champion of Champions, and Coach Hornzell shared coach of the year honors with Temple's Coach Paroly!

Solid weekend on the mats for the Retrievers at The Apprentice School's Builder Invitational. Not only did Martin Mitchell (149) earn the title and Champion of Champions award, but Carter (125), Hayden (141), Solis (165), and Buckingham (174) all finished the day on the podium. Up next for the Retrievers is the NCWA National Duals at Liberty University on January 26th and 27th.

With wins over NCWA Squads from RPI, The University of Delaware, Wes Chester University, and The University of Maryland, College Park - Your UMBC Retrievers are the 2017 Retriever Duals Champions. Six individual Retrievers went undefeated on the day en route to the team championship. Full details and box scores will be uploaded shortly. Up next for the Retrievers is finals, followed by the 2018 Waynesburg Invitational.

Come watch the Nationally Ranked Retriever wrestling squad in their last meet of the first semester. Opponents include The University of Delaware, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, West Chester University, Towson University, and Rowan College of Gloucester County. After the meet, the team invites all family, friends, and supporters to join us at Sorrentos of Arbutus for food and drinks!

Retriever wrestlers put in work today going 2-1 at The Green Terror Duals at Mcdaniel College. The Retrievers earned wins over NCAA D2 Alderson Broaddus and NCWA Mid East Conference rival PSU-Mont Alto before falling to host McDaniel. Undefeated on the day for UMBC were Miles Franklin (149), Anthony Solis (174), Brandon Buckingham (184), and Chukwudi Kalu (285). Next up for the Retrievers is The Cyclone Open at Centenary on December 3rd.
