Overpriced, didn’t even get my hair blown out which is suppose to come with the cut, and it was very obvious I was unhappy with the lack of haircut I was given. The stylist told me I could come back n...ext week after I had blown out and styled my hair on my own and she would fix the cut if I really didn’t like it. Those were pretty much the only words she spoke to me the entire time. She wasn’t friendly at all and I’d even say quite rude. I’ll never go back again, which is a shame because I had been looking forward to this particular haircut at this salon for over two years! What a disappointment! See More

I just moved to Austin in June and I was so worried I wasn’t going to be able to find a stylist. When I went to Urban Betty for the first time I was blown away from the minute I walked in the door to ...when I left. Chenoa is the stylist who did my hair and she made my hair look incredible! I had four different strips of color in my hair going from roots all the way to my ends. I couldn’t believe the transformation at the end! I went from ashy blonde roots with a random tinted purple/dark brown all over color with really light blonde at the ends to a seamless dark brown root to blonde balayage. At the time I was looking for a job and after a conversation with Chenoa I applied to Urban Betty and I now work at the front desk! I am so lucky to work in such a positive environment and be surrounded by so much talent! It’s fun to see the reactions of the stylist’s clients when they leave! I really wanted to like this place! Came in for a consultation regarding a color and Brazilian blowout. Because of the nature of the services requested, I wanted a color then Brazilian on same day for... best results. The stylist Jamie is a lovely lady who was helpful but she doesn't do keratin treatments. I didn't meet with the stylist doing the Brazilian blowout but that didn't seem to matter to anyone. The actual appointment was scheduled a week in advance so I figured it wasn't a big deal. I received a call the night before to confirm. Everything sounded fine.

I come in today. My color appointment is booked. When I asked about my Brazilian blowout the lady at the front desk seemed confused. She ran back to get my stylist Jamie. At first Jamie told me that the stylist who performed Brazilian Blowouts won't be there until 7 (I booked my color at 3pm hoping to be out of there by 7 at the very latest, so that didn't work). Then Jamie tells me the stylist who USED TO do Brazilian Blowouts no longer offers this service.

Again. Booked this appointment a week in advance. Got a phone call making sure I'd be there on time the night before. Found out they couldn't do what I want until I'm already there. Wtf.

Jamie could do the color but between the sloppy scheduling and then not giving me advanced notice about the the blowout just made my first experience with Urban Betty feel like a waste of time so I simply left. It's great if you have a talented team of stylists but when simple follow through is missing, it just feels unprofessional. See More

She made sure I was well informed on current and future expenses and how m...y hair would turn out then and in the long run! Joeli is amaaaaaazing! I came in for a hair consultation a week ago and had my hair cut with her yesterday. She made me feel confident and excited about my new hair cut (we cut a LOT) and color. She w...orked with my natural curl and understood I do a lot of flat ironing with a little curl. The first repeat customer that walked into my office today stopped dead and exclaimed, "I LOVE IT! It is light, it is fresh, it is now, and I LOVE IT!"

Spent $200 on a cut and all over color. Wanted to go from a platinum blonde to a strawberry blonde. Not a terribly complicated process but it turned out rust red orange with copper roots and also bu...rned badly from a too hot flat iron. Returned for a redo where another stylist put a soap cap and toner to try and lighten and correct the color. It then became bright orange with red orange roots. Finally went to another salon and spent MORE money to have someone else correct it. Because of the damage already done we could only go darker but at least I'm no longer embarrassed to leave my house. Absolute tragedy of an experience. See More

I absolutely love it at urban betty!! When I first came here... I had a horrible "pixie cut"..and Jess fixed me up.. been going to her ever since! I change my color a lot and usually get red or purple... and even tried gray and jess always just rolls with it � . Even when I freak out the next day and want it changed lol. I've even introduced my cousin to her! there is a reason they are among the top salons in austin! See More

Holy cow! I don't normally write reviews but I had to for this place. I went to Urban Betty absolutely terrified on what was going to happen I'm platinum blonde and a lot of people can mistake platinu...m for play boy blonde. I was super nervous as a first timer. She made me feel at ease and comfortable as soon as I sat in the chair. Through out the whole process I slowly forgot why I was even scared and completely trusted her before my hair was even finished. She gave me an amazing Swedish baby blonde that I'm absolutely obsessed with. I'm never going to anywhere else again. Thank you for giving me a new hair home ❤️ You're the best Hannah! See More

I moved to Austin a few months ago and needed to find a new stylist. Melly at Urban Betty is it! Went in today for balayage (I probably spelled that wrong) and a cut and she lightened, toned, painted,... and cut my hair in about 3 hours! Prices were reasonable for the amount of work that went into doing my hair. Plus they have beer � hopefully she posts a picture so everyone can check it out for themselves, but trust me, I'll be a repeat client for sure! See More

Today was my first day visiting Urban Betty. I've been throwing the idea around to myself for several months that it was time for a change in salons. I'd been going to the same stylist for the last 8 ...years and was scared to change. I've been coloring my hair nonstop for the majority of those 8 years.
Today I saw April. She was 100% honest with how damaged my hair was and how if we did more color, it would only make it much worse than it is. Dead, coarse, and lifeless. She helped me with the decision to start a treatment on my hair, let my hair breathe, and make it healthy again. What it's on it's way to being again after today.
I appreciate her honesty, her professionalism, and her desire to actually make someone else's hair beautiful! You can tell she loves her job. I have found my new stylist and am so excited! Thank you, April!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Madelon; she is truly a miracle worker! I'm horrible at remembering to get my hair cut regularly, which is a terrible thing if you have very fine hair like I d...o. After a while I look like I've stuck my finger into an electrical outlet. Every time I go I think to myself, "this is it, they're going to have to shave my head because there's no way to fix this mess." And every time, Madelon works her magic and makes my hair look like a million bucks. In past experiences before I found Urban Betty I found that most stylists don't know how to cut fine hair well, but she has it down to an art. I always try to give her an idea of what I'm going for and let her run with it because I fully trust her decisions and ability, both with cuts and color! I've been going to Chelle (owner) for probably 9 or 10 years and seen the salon grow so much over that time. All of the stylists do amazing work - many of them have grown up in the salon starting out ...as assistants. It's truly a unique place with a great culture. I've definitely found my new salon! I went in with a mousey, scraggly brown mess on my head and walked out with the cutest haircut/color I have ever had! Maddie was super great and knew exactly how to... work with the mess I had going on. My hair is really fine and wavy/curly (but, like, a no-body wavy) and it has so much dimension and looks so much thicker now. The atmosphere of the place is also just super cute.
