A Bad Week For Imposter Foods (but a good week for humanity)
Hi Friends,
As many of you saw, Imposter Foods took a shelling in Bloomberg BusinessNews last week....
“Fake Meat Was Supposed to Save the World. It Became Just Another Fad
Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods wanted to upend the world’s $1 trillion meat industry. But plant-based meat is turning out to be a flop.
By Deena Shanker, January 19, 2023”
They responded by taking out a full page ad in the New York Times accusing Bloomberg of secretly planning with “Big Meat” to make Impossible Foods “look bad” (it must suck to be them). Of course, this just made them look that much more ridiculous.
"that so-called Big Meat and Bloomberg are secretly in cahoots to make Impossible Foods and co. look bad, and that the New York-based media company is a regular disseminator of inaccurate reporting."
At any rate, I thought I’d use this real world Payton Place of fake food to resurface my opinion piece from 2020 which was one of the very first to call out their hypocricy. Enjoy.
Opinion: Software to Swallow — Impossible Foods Should Be Called Impossible Patents

*** Soil carbon is a stabilizer of temperature. *** It keeps land co...oler in summer and warmer in winter. The global warning from atmospheric CO2 loading is exacerbated by losses in soil carbon. As a result, not only are average temperatures higher, but swings are also greater. We can get both extreme highs and lows (at least for a while). The air flows are also disrupted. Arctic air falls south and warm middle latitude air ventures further north.
*** Restoring soil doesn’t just sequester carbon, it repairs the global thermostat. ***
This is true, in part, because it allows the soil to hold more water (which keeps it cool), and also because it allows the soil to hold more life (which keeps it warm).

Keeping it real, amigos. The future is coming, with music! (Yebo that) Stay tuned! 🎸🎵🎤❤️🐄✊🏼
