A prosecutor expressed anger and frustration after the Oakland man convicted of abusing a puppy before burning her alive was sentenced to only three years in prison on Friday.

Willie Bee Turner allegedly poured bleach on the weeks-old Chihuahua as punishment after she defecated in his friend's apartment. The incident culminated with him setting fire to the puppy inside the crate, killing the trapped dog, according to court testimony.

“This is a piddly sentence for such a he...inous crime,” Sacramento County Deputy DA Hilary Bagley told the judge, according to a local newspaper.
