Have you ever had an undead stepfather who plays some tasty 80s-inspired jams swoop into your life and be the most supportive adult influence you've ever had? Well, now you have! Vampire Stepdad synth-heavy 80s pop culture soundtracks and also takes time out of his day to make sure his stepkids (us, the fans) know he loves and supports us and is overall just the coolest dude I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. If you find yourself in the Atlanta area on a night VSD is putting on a show, make it a point to stop by. I guarantee you'll have the time of your life, AND you'll come out of it a part of a new family. See More

If you want a combination of amazing music to get down to, as well as a super supportive and all-around awesome step-dad to add to your family, look no further!
Music ranges from catchy tunes you'd to dance to to slower songs that might make you nostalgic for when roller rinks were still the most popular things around (and oh you just wish someone would ask you to go with them for a couple's skate!)
It's always a good time with your friendly neighborhood Vampire Step-Dad.

After centuries of the undead life, many vampires have been able to grasp the shadowy control of the most powerful companies in the world, controlling media, commerce, and society. They fulfilling all... their desires with this power.

Vlad also chose to use his immortal power, to take the most ordinary and make it extraordinary. Creating the most luscious and dulcet synth the music industry could ever demand! Not with leather... nor spikes and chains... He dons the swankiest loafers, slacks, and handmade wool sweaters, so authentic they make YOU itch!

He unites the music underground with the power only the new step-dad of a blended family can bring. This is the power of the night! Vampire Step-Dad, the synthwave immortal we all need in our lives.

What do you do when some guy swoops in, literally, and marries your mom? Well first, you try to lock him outside in the cold, but he only got frostbite (get it?). Then you try to shun him from your fa...mily, but you had to concede when he argued that blood was thicker than water. Finally, I understood that this sweater wearing, goofy guy, was a pretty cool step-dad. Besides, does your dad play a mean keytar? Yeah, I didn't think so. Does your dad eat Green Berets For Breakfast? Well mine does! In short, my Vampire Step-Dad isn't the pain in the neck I expected after all. See More

Now that I've been adopted into this ghoulish family, I think it's safe to say I'm in too deep. One show and this band has me totally twisted; I'm buying music, I'm buying merch, I'm sending songs to friends. I'm easily their new biggest fan. If you like the sound of the 1980's and/or enjoy synthpop in general, these guys are excellent (my running joke is that every song is a cover of something from Knight Rider).

But in all seriousness, they put on an excellent show. They love to rock out and jam and have fun with their fans. Welcoming, fun, and all around awesome. Proud to be a part of the family. Thanks Dad!

Look, I didn't invite him into the house, I wasn't around when it happened but mom likes him and to be honest he grows on you.

When he first started dating my mom, I wasn't sure about him. I mean, my biological father is a werewolf, and Vlad is, well...a vampire.

My Vampire Step-Dad has proved that he means to do well by me... and mom- love bites, but Vampire Step-Dad doesn't! Not family, any way.

As a bonus, his improv and dancing skills are phenomenal! Vampire Step-Dad is a fine addition to any family.

Recently me and my step-mother payed a long overdue visit to the far away land of Transylvania. After being ambushed by gypsies and having most of our travel money (I keep extra i...n extra special places) stolen, we were stuck without accommodation. The locals pointed us to some place called ''The Blood Bank''. Now you must understand. This was a shady locale. Like. Original Adam's Family mansion shady. Intro sequence of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night shady. The owner and proprietor of this establishment is one 'Vlad Legosi'. Upon entering his establishment me and my poor mother were bombarded with obnoxiously loud and trebly arpeggiated synths. We got assigned a neighbouring room with this 'Jan Hammer' character, who would not stop going on about fame being like a shaved pig with a greased tail, or something. After getting some sleep, for an all-inclusive breakfast, we were served green berets with brown sauce. Perhaps, I could have handled one at a time, but not both. Next time, at least don't smear the beret in the sauce, let the customer decide if he wants it. However, and this is the most outrageous part, during breakfast my mother excused herself and after noticing she was gone for several hours, I went looking for her and I found her in bed with this man, who had now claimed to be my step-dad. I was absolutely dumbfounded, such shocking service! But then again, his sweater was on point and the tunes were quote unquote 'shit hot'. 4 stars out of 5, would let him sleep with my mother again. Recommend that you do the same. See More

What can I say? The dude straight-up sucks and his music seriously bites. I mean, how could you expect any less from the one and only Vampire Step-dad? Keep on making music and touring, you bloody awe...some creature of the neon night. You've got a great thing goin' on and your style is outta sight.
No seriously... I can't see your style reflected in the mirrorball dangling from the disco ceiling as I dance my bleeding heart out.

So this vampire guy just up and married my Mom and I was like, "But Vlad, I'm 32 years old! I don't think it really matters if you're my stepdad now!"

But he was having NONE of that, and now I'm GROU...NDED. A grown-ass adult, GROUNDED.

Then I found his music collection, you know, stuff he made himself and all and you know what? Now I don't feel so bad about being trapped in my room and I can't even hear the screaming outside of my door anymore. It's pretty good!

My real dad doesn't talk to me anymore, but it's okay because he has been replaced with the almighty Vampire Step-Dad. Not only does he produce the sickest music around, but he stays away from my belo...ved Papa John's Garlic Knots. Love you, Vampire Step-Dad. See More

I could be biased, but I think Vampire Step-Dad may be the most important artist to ever exist.

I almost missed that it's the one year anniversary of the very first Vampire Step-Dad show EVER.

You can watch it all right here:

Never thought I'd open for Carpenter Brut, but unlife is strange that way, isn't it?

Here it is! My very first show ever, opening for Carpenter Brut. I debated leaving out parts where I completely screwed up, but I wanted you to be able to ex...

Got my Vampire Step-Dad merch bundle in today!

There's a very lucrative offer in the VSD newsletter that just went out. If you're one of the stray children that doesn't normally read them, this is definitely the time change your ways and come back to the fold.

One of life's mysteries: Why do I REALLY enjoy YouTube videos of people making their own Dremel accessories?

I'm too excited about this.

“Not gonna lie, watched @echosynthetic fest "CONNECTED" and was deeply moved. This is what is so amazing about the synthwave scene. We put our hearts and souls into it, and there's something miraculous about sharing nostalgia with another person. Derek & Gene you have my thanks!”

If this miniseries gets funded, I get to do the score! Help make the next VSD release happen!

It's Valentine's Day. I can't think of a better way to spend it than listening to Love Bites. On your own, or with a loved one, it works both ways.
