How you can achieve work-work balance between your day job and side hustle
Today we are talking about work-work balance between our day jobs and our side hustles.
#tbt to yesterday when I visited the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American Culture and History for the first time. 🏛 * I had just wrapped up speaking at a conference hosted by the American Heart Association where the conversation was focused on impactful collaboration to improve the health of vulnerable communities. ❤️ * This was by far one of the best conferences that I’ve attended. Every participant was diverse: race/ethnicity, origin, professional background, e...ducation…just about every way that you could conceive of. 🌎 * What they had in common and in abundance was a commitment to authenticity. Because everyone knew their strengths, they were able to engage and listen without defensiveness. As a result, they kicked off hugely strategic and impactful collaborations. 🎖 * This was my first visit to this museum and it hasn’t been from a lack of trying. It’s been sold out every opportunity that I’ve tried to go and I see why. 🤦🏾♀️ * Seeing our history comprehensively and vividly presented is a testament to centuries of both survival and authenticity. The museum was full of quotes, stories, first-hand accounts, and media all showing how black people being themselves fully has been a force for creativity that today still strikes fear in the hearts of ignorant people. 🔥 * While I was on stage, I told my story of how I became an entrepreneur. I want to share a quote that I repeated on stage that aided my decision then and now. 🎙 * "If they don't give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.” — Shirley Chisholm 🛋 * I would only add that once you are at the table, show up and show out as your authentic self. Because the real #blackgirlmagic that weaker individuals find intimidating is being unafraid to be yourself. 🎉 * #slayerryday2017 #healthyhustlehabits #throwbackthursday http://ift.tt/2znR39P
