"C’est modelé par l’émotion, mais tenu toujours dans ce commentaire subtil, attentif, élégant que lui tisse Vasily Petrenko et ses musiciens norvégiens.
Décidément, c’est à Oslo-Filharmonien que le jeune chef russe a trouvé son équilibre, cet orchestre est d’une beauté si particulière..." LAWO Classics
Photos from last night's concert in Shanghai.
The first concert of 2018 has given a great start to the year as it was performed by the wonderful cellist Andreas Brantelid and one of the most outstanding or...chestras in today's international music scene - London Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the Great Maestro Vasily Petrenko.
We are very much looking forward for the second concert tonight!

30 & 31 December Guangzhou Opera House
1 January: Shenzhen Concert Hall
3 & 4 January: Shanghai Symphony Hall...
5 & 6 January: National Centre for the Performing Arts, Beijing
On Saturday Vasily Petrenko conducts Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Golden Cockerel at Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam with Radio Filharmonisch Orkest. He spoke to NPO Radio 4 about the opera. Listen from 21 minutes in to the programme to learn more about this opera.
"Scriabin's orchestration is always rich and inventive, and Petrenko ensures that we hear every hand-stopped horn entry and quietly ominous timpani pronouncement. The first two movements are replete with clarinet solos, and the Oslo-Filharmonien principal player produces a wonderful range of colours, dark and husky in the low register, whilst warm and lambent higher up." "The final Sacrificial Dance is one of the finest on disc—a fresh, vital performance that rivets your attention right to the end.
The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic musicians play marvelously throughout, having caught the conductor’s spirit of discovery. No matter how many Rite of Spring recordings you possess, you should not miss this one." Onyx Classics
