Retrofitting the Dome for 3D.

ArcLight is showing James Cameron's Avatar in the Dome. The process of retrofitting the Dome to show a 3D movie was extensive. The original screen was replaced with a newer, whiter screen to provide a greater reflection of the light hitting it. The new optical glass was larger to accommodate two side-by-side projectors, which are needed to have enough light for the image. We made a video for you to see the process of moving a digital projector, which we found to be really interesting, and hope you enjoy it.
