Give This is Here um but maybe I was Then Is your nephew and he liked. It or just your cube uh. You know the corners all the way down a little bit. Everything clean um they Forces Another time now over the over coming and um basically here uh answer Now And then Uh listed see um this is the director of it when I If you ask for That is the basis for you Steve has a little it's just gonna show a few slides about the point. She's putting it together. I would just say that if you a little background, it was just a few years ago then we prepare what's going against something we were looking at. All forms of transportation across it now and what improvements need to be Well, as part of that plan, we have a whole You started out um see Started work on And that has resulted from it so what is all about is about connecting people to jobs, to shopping and the recreation and so so that means uh different modes of traffic. Everything plus tracking. What we all my Transit It is all about connecting people So this is the presentation how many of you have been telling you that's not Okay so so tonight, so I'm gonna skip around a little bit stop me. But there was a little bit of an introduction on how this place so I'm gonna over some of the early uh there's lies and of the day there's, a lot of reasons we're looking She and her and So we And so we went to parks and see It will be before they are so lots and lots of outreach to develop the land Over all of that basic background, three she'll talk a little bit about the moon. How familiar is everyone with some of the different moves that are considered Okay, I'm gonna spend a little time talking about this so we looked at a number of different types of those and one of the things that we, when we talk about public transportation, we're, not talking about just real just us we're talking about a number of different things and so we looked at everything these are major investments so we looked at heavy rail so if you're familiar with the current market rail system, that the line currently terminated or bill that would be the heavy real life can move tons and tons of people it's the one of the fastest ways to people very efficient, very effective, very expensive about 250 million dollars a mile, so one of the things that How many of the consultants for cast with maybe sure that we have financially can spring plants so we can't just plan for everything we need to make sure it's actually able to be implemented so how do you read is a piece of the plan. It might not be as bigger pieces some people like to see, but it is a part of it we'll talk to each other um. We did consider both light rail and commuter rail light rail runs on the Street. It runs it's done. A little bit slower and heavy rail, but it's still lose lots of people who have lots of trains connected lots of cars connected to one another um also Very expensive million dollars miles, something to uh to do really know commuter rail. We would be sharing once with great company, so in the North so they're in the Center in the Central part of the night, we did have conversations with her book. Southern there are still opportunities potentially the regents consider that was definitely a lot of challenges in being able to score with your rescue, which is not a part of the plan that you see here today. Those are And it is a big component is not something you actually see anywhere in the metro. It's good. It's actually not even one of the places in the us. There are lots of places around the world that are running a bus, rapid transit it's kind of like light rail on retire our bus rapid transit. There are three lines let's talk about A dedicated lane so it's not getting stuck in traffic, a little bit to the It has transit signal priority so it gets to gets a little bit of extra reading time. So it gets out in front of all the extra traffic and they're really nice stations. You can get your ticket before so there's a lot of really great families and nice thing about this rapid transit security, like real you can move up the same amount of people they talk about it or so price over about 25 million dollars a mile just a lot of money um. We can do about traffic and transit Now we have other, more moderate investments wrap it for us is kind of be your light so we might not have completely dedicated lanes. There. We might have a huge number so the bus can get out outside in front of the traffic gets an extra signal Green time um get out front of the queue and then still have a lot of those other women as they go along with your team the express Peter bus. You see those operating today were running along the interstate borders going to the major employment centers. We will also have been full subsidies So, for the express bus, there's lots of people who are gathering here in to that one specific place and allows for smaller groups of people who have some patients to come together and and then and then a little bus ration, is expansion of the local bus system. The flex services mentioned, operating right now and the snow area. It's more than demand service. You can either call ahead or go online and request service limited or Service but it's slower offering option but it's in places where you have your regular facebook plus it's route them. Rule us alright and then also for the areas that are outside of our stones. We also have subsidies to help support for ride sharing so, let's say you live outside where the current You might be able to get a discounted rate if you're going to So all of these different things were considered in the plan and the vast majority of them are included This is a little bit more information have a aboard. You can look at how, for a little bit of fun with it is it is this is running its own dedicated so no point in time are those buses and there are particularly for the longer muscles you'll never see them running and with the strategy and in the lower picture you can see a lot of news to cover so there so it's gonna be a lot of them look at feel very tired and experience um, but it is actually a retired u Okay so, let's talk very briefly about the system. Uh the expansion so three year constrained plan a lot of people say three years of this. That's great, but what happens in the first five years of the tenders. So it's not just about the three year plan there's, a lot of things are happening between so this is what the existing system looks like today. You can see a combination of express bus and local bus there's actually even a new route. I mean, for more until this already started since the plan since even before and that's connecting the words bill So, in the first five years, we have a number of different things so we're expanding our express bus routes. Um in particular, out receipts teams. Uh wonderful tool we also have new the new routes in Green that you see are direct connect roads and kind of a hybrid between local under stress service and what, if the challenges with the express bus, is that if you leave in the morning and come back and you have something that So we have to really think about this is that you get home in the Middle of the day. You can take them or the system. The rest of the family and then get on the bus which then will go back to each of the reported rise and drop them back off the right number one in both directions around today, so it's it's a step of complementary services to use dresses. We restructured both service. We have 12 local rounds in the first five years And then we have this to flexing one similar to one already so and then one of the picture. So that's all that will be available here in the first five years when we do the first 10 years we have our first high capacity transit which is the bus, rapid transit and you can see it starting at the doorbell station and if that happens, wind event connects up and goes over to sally warm and runs up to uh to not play small caps, even energy Center and over to assure period so that From Jimmy Carter to the North, it will be completely dedicated and the only reason that was not a dedicated rummaging merges. So eventually got her to be removed and replaced by federal transit So you see in addition to that, we are the. We have more express routes. The same few direct and actually even more global service. 17 ounce and then we're also expanding our evening and Sunday shoes. So longer time period And the three year plan which is what you don't so see you have your your stream and has a number of these actually the majority of within through your plants actually 20 or so years a lot of the remaining 10 years is debt service. So you have our heavy rail transit which is connecting from doorbell then up to a new multi modal of hat. That's replacing some of your feet within the dedicated. your Q new transit from And then we have another one that starts it down so the runs running along the 78 for These We also have rapid, rapid corridors that is really your light. You know, beat of those corridors. We have the express routes with 11 parking rides. We have another new threat connect about um some of our local rounds of actually gone down in number. That's because we upgraded a lot of them to grab it with your team so actually We have six total elections. You can see in the northern and eastern parts of the County real tremendous expansion of the service areas. We go from Or a pair of trees is also a little bit a C. Having area that is our para transit service and that specifically That operates within three quarters of the services or within the last day of current Super service comes with 20 percent believe areas and everything and I was very young and we will reach about 65 It's a tremendous expansion if you're moving So that is the overview for the plan Awesome Yes, for sure, on the 10 year plan and how much of the heavy um reactive you have completed on the tenure plan, none of the heavy real estate have you real is probably 12 to 15 year timeframe in terms of So get the 15 years This is what we have now there's, a lot of factors that go into that. But obviously you will need to get a significant amount of federal money to The new starts process is Times about how the process is it's not just This is but we feel, like this is an appropriate time A lot of people live in areas that are not in your services For example, I have a friend who lives that in her family ever since no, but she's down line, the roasting and very soft party and Can't drive anymore and so the people like that just be using good Well, so they could be using uber and lift to then get them Yeah you can have, I don't We've got some early I think the idea is that if you are not within the service area but there is potential And we'll talk to you about through years and years, we also in addition to just ride share service before there's. Obviously opportunity times. We have to be providing Transit cover 65 It is So you can see it on the road there, but it's the hashed area that covers all of that is the prices up Idea on that last mile to be in to be able to That's an I'm gonna put it However, it's either my sister used to rely on it, but it's not limited to the four out Will it help with your medical providers So I hear what you're saying about the last one 65 percent there will be people outside of the 65 You know that this And one of the nice things about the contractors, those allows flexibility to make awesome improvements about great. We have the technology as we have better ideas. We can do so much better and but it helps, if you have the resources to do that absolutely and this is this plan look like we have to do these types of technologies The other thing about them and Different Over the And You There is a three million dollars that's And Okay, God Oh And and more Down That is family one There is a certain location for your There's already an arena our neighborhood so we may go on that. I'm gonna be very effective We have We saw the beginning of the process we did a peer review will The location Here Um as a detailed look at how Norman terms of That was your And we also Um but then also be on other students doing some You can And this is where this plan is follow the other metro areas and There's, a lot of events You Right now there's a number of different You You don't actually experience that this affair is the same There's, a lot of I got a flyer in the mail I believe, from the elections office about the um, remembering them and I'm wondering if everybody who's done men in Show hands. I put it Oversight of the contract Um so we're just going to be longer to whatever kind of revealing and then have our say what's best for The primary point that Sales tax so she ate it The fines are so those funds are not sent directly to water. Those funds are sitting on a counter and then, when it County, we will reimburse more for expensive now this is a partnership that is, it's a partnership with more Partnership, but it is going to be working together and that's the way the plan was laid out and that's when Now come in and they are gonna be uh And then this plan to see it land. It for skin through is part of Look at it because the plans but there is a lot of control of it right really project. We get the right to you on this project. We need to use the projects and so when the County does have a good bit of control and this else taxes that come in and make me they have to be used for we also have the option to improve our service so we want nicer bus stations or train stations or we wanted to have free security, their vision to lead us be that's actually extremely favorable contract um and that's Anybody, like this kind of surprise and they read this because it is extremely able to there's some other counties. I think that they're very nice That's something I need to get back to them and their There will be appointed by the Commission Then, just mention something that was going on. Maybe a little bit too soon and those details and that's security. I wrote more than two years the last 10 years in my job and the police A role at least staying in writing back and forth for two years, so, if I can address that Yeah the cities and the County will be working very closely before We have a very strong of Commission present and they have total policing power, just like you can put in something. It right. there Thank you Is we does the plan not love. I don't know how the contractors will be chosen on or anything like that very process. On that the people didn't actually be doing a little work and he's got really two writers strike action So So we will be whatever you have whatever that is not originally be accusing the contract. Okay, um, but with that having very great we will hit it like this as a partnership and we will be working together on some of those decisions so I'm like a big process yeah alright yeah facebook is I know you This is Very similar, very similar process, so all of our projects Probably very similar Everybody You know me as a big there's already going to be So there's going to be the largest population So there are already jobs projected. We did not do a sort of economic This is critical for us, um to be tamed. The jonathan pad, because we've already had a major um job creators moving to downtown Atlanta or along these rail line. Isn't protects us if we are integrated that system because it allows to have more of jeans here can't be on the transplant Over the And doesn't want to sell stocks, so that's my I think it was listed around 30 percent of the sales tax. That's coming outside Think about it we're gonna do something. Um it's gonna cost money and this kind of also protects us additional revenue stream. So that we don't have to rely solely on my And there is a transfer of some of the current services from property taxes sales taxes that So only nine percent is set aside and uh. We went to one portion of this size. There are paper existing service so Prime services guys back Thank you Federal and state dollars and Wow This season in a regular Journal was true. It's true that doesn't local elected through sales taxes to any federal funds and other sources of funding uh put it County has a great history and then that with other products that historically through projects and lost a game or another from the Down I think that percent 45 percent and it received We can also get that money soon because whatever that uh to basically back gonna get excellent so that we could get three 45 percent The best of reasons London mention the very purpose of So that means we would leverage our That 200 dollars Basically With And you have to go It's a next and we also have the back and so our budget But they're not very they're not bringing in the sections they are based on historical data and experience and their conservative manner as well That's reading the soon the highest federal dollar, maybe you see What is the constraint basically. This is a very conservative estimate plan. If these go well, because probably that was a lot more and there's another benefit plans here is a 30 year financially and banking and if passed the sales tax will actually continue to 20 57 so 38 years of Probably started with what we are showing them and there is good There is a vision that's That looks out with some So there are other projects beyond here that could All right so there are a number one Go At the end of the day, probably a lot smaller vehicles that will be able to drive a lot of Think about it there's, a lot of people running So we anticipated particularly the high capacity Okay This is one of the best ways to be He's like They started off pretty actually like share and so busy a lot of opportunities There's, a lot of flexibility there learning infrastructure projects like Those We That story that hurt one of the more teachers, moonlighted overdrive are and they found that pretty much 90 percent where they were going was taking somebody to Moore and so uh they're the real benefit of a Thomas vehicles. Things like uber or become a lot cheaper and so it's still gonna be the last mile. So it's gonna get it's getting somebody from their House to the heavy rail transit so we're working to transit network, not getting them to their final destination And I will point out with the Boston is one of the vehicle can be equipped with the boxes and the technology to the mix and so you can let us know on the schedule and I really agree Um it was or the end of this year, yeah we're we've already received funding for To fall to everything else around and whether that be uh fire emergency vehicle and so that it gives the Green time to That same technology that we have uh it's a federal Grant to pay for that out in the beginning. That probably coming into this year and when he is in, we will have to change the technology. So that it works from fires, fire trucks, the buses, the technology is just flipping, a switch inside of the technologies that allow for an expanded Um if you're, if you want, I mean people reasonably very often they run doing the hundred people 20 minutes, how often so Here And articulated They are this It's not That About it oh it's gonna get you in this market Nations are a little bit talking about the work like the transit Not even about how we develop it is worth waiting to connect all of And that's part of you know Who so guy wait work, humanitarian like present, we have a uh uh presentation on the rebel project. Uh you There got so many things that somebody is transit out to the side and I'm going to push to bring back more of the Central focus point. So that we can get into the shot base me. Uh incentive eyes. You, please, because that area Seuss while finishing up so there was the ability For There he is Yes, so I'm with the sugar, a little see it which is the area around infinite energy Center. Um the New York city will be the real extension run two of the gateway in size. The. It starts. You go to the place the idea that sugar is also home of the gateway. Five city is actually on the meeting. Yes so, all these ideas for years planned around um creating more um you know There are a lot of Grant funds available for the compliment Yeah and a lot of there have been a lot of plans. The party done by the Cia it's just a matter of implementing them and you wouldn't know what was proposed. We five and we're gonna place that he put together a study looking at what it takes for me uh heavy yet so there's been so many things um. We made that's one of the slides that uh passed over the And if you look at the heavy rail and we don't even come close to the real requirements of that and so we need to be able to use the funds to pay for it and see what it, what we're really And we need to what we want to be looking at when we're doing the only reason this is looking at where we can identify. We can supply around the transit routes that we can also help the world when it areas once they roll and don't want things well, there. We can come and we're going to grow so you can grow in places around transit and People living and working in close proximity of the don't have to grow for you don't have to travel through the County. We have Well, as interest And there have been four Central plans in the counties of prove in roughly the last two years and those four plans. The first most comprehensive transportation plan which looks at all of the transition and then next, was the County of trails master plan and they approved the transit clean. But you see a lot of information here tonight and then they prove that unified plan and if there was a concerted effort for all of those plans, commissions, together so they weren't done in isolation but one was done in conjunction and coordination with another, so that the all of these different Forms of transportation and land use to come together and longer term will be I do um how do we get how do we get to this right. He's all this design, yes, it's a lot of work. That's been done over the years and so I put those that may not have um stun It's really important, there are some folks and we're live streaming. Um, some of this information for those that are out there. We have three full weeks of early vote. Um we'll start with the courts. Anything but um actually it's a little 331 um we also have families of early welcome February. Well March fifteenth that's Monday to Sunday, seven I urge you to go out and vote early and Also, early and only question today which is March nineteenth um that's two weeks of early voting right here in the show so you already to make it here. You can make it here. Seven to seven March fourth, through the fifteenth, including Saturday and Sunday, so you can come here at the church or whenever convenient for you. We have two full weeks, including that weekend 77 right here and one guy took off yes You know something about balance, sometimes the question For the reason that is so obviously So um just to let you know and letting folks know that what they are voting on is this like Yes Is that what is It was contingent on a referendum this is a state of siege And um we're, starting for It's single singing issue items that are standing on the elections, elections like Today turnout tends to be very, very, very, very long, so it matters each individual person. This, if your here and from the questions that I gather the seas are generally interested in having more expensive but you don't understand how important you buy appreciate each one of these one additional person Um because that about turnout with just stumbling by one person yourself, plus one person, uh it's really gonna make a difference in making sure that this is this path is um and you know I don't think those that um for very amazing. I would say this is reasons have concerns with marley expansion it's Um are so motivated to come out of your bill that maybe some of us don't have that self deportation. So if you wanna like why it's so important for you to do. You have anything after this uh the word out and you Situated down those blessings And I really wanted to emphasize I hope A lot of people If they don't, they don't show up with no And uh really theirs we're going to do something and things are gonna move forward. Um it's How is it gonna be for the reasons we pay for it and How to me, we have a lot more options. If we have the one set size We think there's, an opportunity to renegotiate and try to do this again. 18 um, but we lose out on a lot of time and it is just made. It's just right wing. The recommended November here. We miss out on the So And it's not really And Let's do it ourselves and you don't have an answer before which is we can't be well if you look at all of where and what services is out And we were saying it is the beautiful instrument Um um one of them, a lot of this stuff interacting right now there are a lot of the We will be outside. We are and where we can partner. We have actually you don't have to change for one of us Their friends Personal You know everybody Major medical centers in this area are So we need to think about people Example, this is one of their goals is it a lot of Yeah you really wanna get it on board and for saying that and having the board moving forward and that's why I said the challenge that I wanted to deal with this to ensure that you help us spread the word out and get and get folks to actually come up. People um wendy um. You can give them information um Whatever it is that when it was to come out and vote it's really important, we can't get this to back pass if we don't have um one of you commit to getting someone else to come out of So what's it looking like now, is forward, I know the last time I heard him pretty close so it's important to have these Yes, good And what I wanna say with um holding is that take with a grain of salt. It gives you uh. I brought the idea about where people are but again, most pulling up. Fortunately, even when its brand around the Ready, nice trend that is a lot of the tendencies to be selected of likely voters and that's why it's important to briefly close with you, that would otherwise not put what were planning on holding or don't vote on these off off top of years. um Take that into consideration right ends up from, for me personally, for going on into to my district as well, and we're basically flip dropping a lot of this is the same information here. Um, including to those low propensity or non voters. Um because again turn out it gets a couple more boats coming to vote um is greatly outweigh in low turnout elections so um that's why polls Always so good and I encourage you to vote early because you never know the reins on down in the past. So, for me personally, I mean Oh already, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh really notice when your home to You have to be registered from the last election in order to learn how to sack O today is the last day to register to vote in this election. more You can do it online online and even for those that might have last minute needs for that three officers over here remember that's for someone else. If you go to my voter page, uh just a little butter page and you can register to vote online today. I would put the confirmation page that person voted today, but today it would be the last they saw packed a punch to vote um if you register anytime before whether or not you voted and he had a prior um prior to election cycle that's not a problem. You can still vote down on March Is Here And we And that I want people to think about the organizations that are telling us to vote yes, it's not the strength um to uh be sierra club and supporting this because it will be good for the environment and uh you're. Gonna have to change numbers is supporting it because they will be playing it's good for the business environment That's that's another point to your friends and neighbors And the question As you guys, we will get a contract that the entity has uh. Obviously create cost and even predict it for, for the project, all right, you guys on that for All kind of like the next five years we're gonna spend five billion dollars. All right for the that's. The um cost There Is there a bottom line The We will Look at Sales tax You don't have any other questions. I'd um we wanted to give a quick overview about what's happening in the capital and um yeah. That's. Why I'm like so longed, a city Committee here but um that and I think that What is the one of its two major issues. Um and that we're gonna be taking a look at today as a matter of fact, was one of the first hearings for the um that would address the voting machines that we Um the way that the main concern is that we, um make still have voting that voting machine devices more um. Our selection for candidate versus that hand Come on that um and then another spot of actually by um about travel on video was that there's still a potential for um their not to be an actual paper ballot because the definition as written in the current bill as of today still set for electronic Even though And human inaudible, uh pain free now and then Bill generally stated that That was a potential simplicity, knowledge allows it from the different sounds that we fund raise that possibly available with the bully Bush e. ns What do you come in um in the bar codes. Um but this is still a working progress. One of the things I always ask What's, the Definitely, the idea being solely paper ballots Yes, but again seven The next time Also, keep in mind that the capital is the issue of expanding medicaid for those that are in the gap. Um between um, having being able to be eligible for medicaid and earning too much money to to actually be um Um As community, probably are very aware, the governor has requested in the one dollars plus one million dollars that comes Um it is been generally the decision of the House Democratic caucus Scott decision as an a boat above position but rather as a chemicals and principle that um Waivers we would really have to wait and see what they look like and what the study but a way to self like location says that it's an exemption from one less people and more you're going to give them less benefits now. Medicaid already provides to the wife and maybe help from experts. There are basic, essential um prevent and prevent So you're, not gonna be boring with the latest greatest luxury health care and so you need to trash Um really what's best for um those the way is what that actually would like. Some of that. Some of them the bill as it's written now for the medical waivers cover less people and actually would be more costly than simply um expanding medicaid. As a result of the affordable care act So those are things to watch um for those that are not on my last uh. If you wanna go with a look at this that com and sign up to that, we send up also action and, unfortunately, for legislation purposes that whole section is sometimes the only a day or two of notice that Well The paper ballot and the Sea and really see how you put it in there as well, so if you wanted for your home for live to see when we put it into your ballot and gives the board, if you can Granted there could be there. They would get their advice and went on to be able to be that It's a nice And you can check out the barcode ballot right I was just and I guess in my mind, I was like our receipts we're gonna store, like we buy demise. We can see everything but if you go to return something to scan the barcode and previous, there but you can see marcus sure right by Very it already out there you know this part right. You can't because you And then this is also at the machine work devices, um before your vote, um is that concern that if we do have um hand Park, um you know there's always issues of um primarily credit really the big issue is of what's going on what's called on Most adults we, like scratch, your pencil down the line and a lot of things like this and talk to the school trying to stay within the bubble but sometimes people go and that's where you can see more baby to his. But if you can still have, if you have seen right now he's just going through There's machine machines through the all you can Right now, we don't want to say it is actually Then Alright and then depreciates are also not perfect. Uh as far as totally recording people's votes accurately, that they were finding people long fingernails were actually marking something they did not intend to Mark and if they didn't check their ballot before they That is something they didn't mean Valley is that it is about this specific issue about voting rights and access is the policies and procedures behind vote right and we have a lot of States if I, by going to our County, um our County election board and um one more that I'm gonna be That is really important for us to be able to determine locally how our elections are meant to be ours. Are we open early voting and for how long and what we should all of those questions heads down to the County level. So it's very important that we keep in mind that a lot of the concerns and issues that we have especially in this last election cycle in terms of a lot of reports, not being available. You know those are things that um are fixed by better efficiency um, a running the majors around the clock around the election process, so it's always important to keep in mind the best sound World so Once we did that on the House side it's now. I'm gonna go over to the Senate side. Um is um a bill that, by statute, allows the and some portions of wayne County, particularly forced northern portions of when I come there still covered by um by Jackson What are you there Jackson Jackson, um and so the what was changed was not requiring them to provide broadband. This is an issue um having access tribe and it's particularly helpful for four areas. All but Allow the statute to provide broadband services and one of the main reasons that they wanted that um be allowed. Will statue is because they can also um request federal funding. Um particularly two pots of money. One up from the Department of agriculture and one from the under the farm bill, specifically um where they could receive matching funds for um Provide items capital investments in the Oh sorry, five Right now, I'm gonna be part of all of your free time for uh F one 50 You know eat actually gasped because I'm using gas, uh Our uh oh oh hundred dollars and we don't have uh owners, they're not answer for his very home fair and there's a powerful 75. oh Those amazing it has done here yet um but And also um um you can follow me on facebook twitter snap chat or instagram about it feels um and And also getting close to acting on things of where I would be the capital or usually spread out for social media. Thank you for coming and thank you for being here
