Okay so good evening my name is bianca King My name is bianca t and uh I am the chair of the Democratic party Last year I had an opportunity to serve the campaign as the women's uh constituency director and through that work got familiar with so many of you here in this room and you should all give yourselves a round of applause My name is max 30 I was the regional field director here in gwinnett uh during the coordinated And for places that were new to me this time um 20 16 when I first came to win and it was amazing uh we had a fantastic team that help us turn when it flew for the first time And the best part about it was the new blue not the old blue I think anybody's in Georgia for the time of these get such okay so this year this past year was stacy Prince leading the helm go net did even better than we ever could Dream yeah And he has and all the efforts that people in this room today we went by 12 points of course it was a lot more than what we do we have a 20 16 it was awesome thankfully no we're not pretty um but we're really here today to say thank you all for all the efforts that you've been doing for all the efforts are about to do and help us in this fair fight to make sure that Jordan is fair elections and we really just want to say just from the bottom of my heart that every you know every effort you guys do really doesn't matter Whether it's joining up with the Democrats and making sure that we're working in the market of random whether it's working with verifying yes I wanna travel knocked down the door of that again tomorrow so let's make sure we get that ok you really wanna do is just make sure that everybody understands that you are just so important to this cause I say even just doing everything she's doing to make sure that you all have a chance at a fair fight out of heir life and making sure that your elections are fair and making sure that the life that you wanna lose the one you want to live right this is going next Third or fourth most diverse County in the nation now um you know specialty right here To brag on go neck from when it happens to be the most diverse County in the entire southeastern In a very short while the rest of the country will be looking much more like a net and they do um their current presentations so the work that we've done here and when that will be the road map for what the rest of the country embarks on so we need to make a strong we need to make it I am gonna throw in a pitch you know for you all to get involved with the neck a River to cardio because facts that's my home and I took the five That um stacey abrams let it in my belly and put it into the party because I thought the party should look more like me and you and recognizing and accepting the fact that our There we have that motion we have that responsibility to show up with our whole sales and to make change by being uh the the doers uh that is our charge that is what we must do from here and we want to leave with the point that he didn't come here us um you didn't hear us but um and um you will hear from stacy abrams had cells in just a short moment but here to introduce her and state representative brenda lopez Good evening and welcome to win that County State representative brenda lopez representing district 99 the best district in the state of Georgia That's right I wanna take time to thank everyone that has supported me in my elections to each hour and dollar contributed so that we ensure that we reach our voters and that we win elections but it is actually your continued support that energize is need to continue fighting for the betterment of Georgia I have now had the privilege to work with 24 young ambitious and intelligent men and women That are the up and coming elected officials and campaign strategist I am proud that leslie fund you know eve Thomas Anthony question pl and put it in another store also constituents of district 99 and all would agree that are deputy chief of staff my soul is the one that runs the show and continues to run all of our teams but I am most proud that they are now serving other legislators becoming lawyers and political confidence And advocacy and promoting entrepreneurship they are the leaders of Georgia now we're all here today for our very own leader stacey abrams Time of the general Assembly shows she has been a leader that has stood up for education and its voting rights and social Justice in her tenure and as our candidate for governor But most importantly it's an B has been the education for her has lifted her out of poverty as it has the potential to do so for so many Americans and that is why she has her priority focus on crater to career her historic campaign has shown us that reaching out to all communities and ensuring that they have a reason to believe that expanding healthcare that's opening opportunities and higher education and creating high earning jobs is possible when you will The right person that understands both policy and grassroots advocacy and that is how you get the best servant leadership I was once told by my high school counselor that because I was like well I could be a receptionist or a Secretary Well while some people just song next can get from your favorite highway fortunately there are other role models as stacey abrams example of eyes that shows the kid like me that you can get a journey a governor like us senator this one around We And yes of course even President of the United States of America My honor to welcome stacey abrams in Georgia one net County This Okay We welcome Well I'm here to say thank you because we did something on November six that your current circumstances being applied All of you to hear me say it we want yeah Forming the electron and Georgia we want like saving more goals than any Democrat in Georgia history is we won by forcing the other side to fight harder than they've ever had to fight before and I'm glad they have a warm up More than likely we want because we got voices to lift themselves and show up at the Coast we triple the number of latinos who voted in the state of Georgia we triple the number of Asian Pacific islanders who voted in Georgia Here until the next open in 20 14 one point one million georgians voted on the Democratic ticket 20 eighteen one point two million active in America We've got some issues that matter we talk about immigration and education and health care we talk about criminal Justice reform and small business at opportunities and we did all of that and did not lose a single light over back to be increase the percentage of White voters for Democrats for the first time in more than 20 years Look like we're go or more importantly that looks like when that camp Then you can achieve that when you can help lift five House seats When the board of commissioners American just school board 400 votes of taking the rest of the city so much so that he decided to retire from I've been to all of the things I've been to savannah we have a conversation in Atlanta we're gonna keep talking but I want to be when that's nice because I want you to know how important you are to the future of Georgia thank you Witness not only if you put those seats here having a good certainty hundred volunteers did more than 20 700 voters ships Maybe more than a hundred and 27 dollar fortunate corner of a million phone calls 600 and 34000 This is deep The politics I mean possibility blue so blue sky More traffic the more of us have more what's there this isn't a zero sum game or my success with your sales but instead we understand if we work together we can achieve together and that is showing us the way but we know that this election was a fake Right we know that it would have County An innocent elementary school you had a standard line yes wait too long to exercise their right to vote you know what that County three thousand voters eligible voters were given provisional ballots this is being allowed to cast their We know that more than 17 hundred thousands for toss out by the next County absentee ballots and we have to go to court to make a cat some of those and we know that that discounting To see if those voters change the elections around the state of Georgia and change the election and when I count we know that if we had free and fair elections I will be able to cite higher numbers and figures but we also know that we live in a mirror and he looked at the cradle of the civil rights movement yes and we live in the fast changing County in the States and if we can create a fair fight whenever you create a fair fight for Georgia and if we can do that for Georgia we will break their fight all across Yourself the market here Yet more to You know you can act you can talk whatever opportunities folks can't get to We know we can't talk to economic opportunity and if the jobs are connected by transportation we know that economic mobility requires actual mobility right and we know that we can get more to and when that is we have a fair election and when that count Thank you all you've got to actually I know what you can do it again I know that you can transform an electrical engaged people who don't believe their votes now I know you can do the work of knocking on doors and making phone calls and reminding everyone that elections don't end in November that we're always fighting for our rights in Georgia we are always fighting to you elections are movement and there are important moments are important markers but the work is done in between x the story in between And March meeting talk to photos get them to sign up to come to show up and get the show out and once we take mart and bring it here to put any other start working again because it may even have another simple election for city Council and County not trying to push a button for city Council seats a lot of municipal elections happening across in that we need to show up so that you need to get your muscle memory ready because I believe there's election coming in 20 20 that we need to pay Help you cuz I wanna What I want to believe in the because we don't know when we start to exercise that right to vote then we start to make it a thing that we do every time there's an opportunity here that we start to change a community so it looks more like what we need we know that when we vote we win yeah next time when we got we actually get the things we want right that only three more folks about hat This is the state of Georgia number six we face the crisis of our democracy do you think the christ people were told you weren't eligible because you were not a licensed and we just want to register that wow yeah post recalled because you get to the wrong precinct because that's who you pull to go that is your following up assaulted terrible election of them at the state level the County level we call it incompetence in Las Vegas with the halt of the boat wow it's not right but it is also that we don't make a change that we will have And you're not saying always win but I'll tell you this I got a friend knew yes it was a cat and I served as a legislator and I probably agree that we both of the Georgia that will be getting in the way of our But amazingly second 20 eighteen than having primaries just like all the dance because they left to go to why don't we get a flat back and Mark down who should have been able to vote the district and we told the folks without any told County officials about it people didn't quite know what they should give it to you but this is the kind of not something to get the core and they cleared it you got a do over election and then the Center you got a second election only this time It was still wrong even we're still not allowed to vote for him folks who shouldn't go to form back to the polls and vote for the other guy and he had to do it all over again have to fight to party and his stake to get democracy in his County and he's getting a third election Taking a primary this is not a partisan issue this is a people absolutely And this is our issue because if we want is we want education for all of our children regardless of zip code if we want medicaid expansion and not some tail facsimile and only privileges don't they decide they want if we want criminal Justice reform to continue if you want small business owners to thrive if we want to Georgia we believe in then we've got to go and we've got to have fair fight and I need you to stand with me when we do that are you with me And when we do tell them That I had nothing to do with dress on me yeah And we are and what our future looks like I got a chance to speed and there are those who question why I would be the standard bear of art mom asked that question to this she is yes she said because you look like a mirror wow alright yes feet for absolutely right because you help create a vision for America stay gorgeous so connect County still getting I hope for you yeah But I said that night the state of our Union is strong but we've got to fight to protect we've gotta defended all our minds and we've got to leave that we are the people we've been waiting for it so I'm here to say thank you for what you've done we got a little bit further to go and so I say to you let's get it done I love you I want to introduce someone who has been the architect of the fall winter she will like her now so Um the ceo of air fight Georgia my campaign manager who would never ever do in life and my dear friend laura walking yeah And later my so fair fight and I'm gonna let you guess which one is my favorite for I love a good fight I love it I actually bringing about it so I'm gonna say fair to say by their five by seven I can say things have been different stacey cancer what they gonna say alone yeah I'm Maria did was wrong Overseas alexis exactly eight years before that targeted not only we have gas way up in North Georgia but African Americans naturalized citizens people who are low and it was fun so we're gonna do whatever their five You cited to this event you do not give us your cell phone number I know you are a member All have a gonna have of life if I don't have a cell phone number on the way out and get this resolved in a number this is serious 50000 people five zero zero zero zero georgians call us tweet us email us in the 10 days following the election and said they have problems voting with your some of you in this room I do and so this will be your distribution issue Talk to the staff about you I need you to see them before you leave stuff on the table alright so one I need your cell phone number to call you two I need you to talk to the teeth if you or anybody you know I don't know that this deal its not too late it's got her hands in the state of Georgia we're coming for you are with them and three I need your email we're gonna just gonna ask you for money in the coming weeks for this website to session and in the coming weeks this year there are big decisions to be made about the future relations with the state and what I can tell you you are the browse your promoters of Russian industry and so we need every person here to commit to be with us and to work together and hear from you your ideas because we have got For 20 20 10 we're gonna be a presidential battleground state we're gonna have a very exciting summer Andrea maybe wins you guys figure locally but we have to go together cellphone number tell us if you have any issues we also need your email and then I need to worry with us for our fair by All right thank you I favor the program any questions no I do not know what I'm doing that But any other questions yes sir okay for balance yes we're asking for and Mark paper ballots the police all of it is really expensive so if you live in the metro area you did not see our Super Bowl commercial on television when they played in all the markets and we asked for him on the ballot it was a commercial with me and with my friend to shoot her that week offered up from County that's where gonna go live so we talked about and what people value we're gonna fight the Missouri we can automatically we live in Georgia still For you let's get to the place where that once you sign up for that yes yes so let me thank you so we're asking the board to the Georgia To the surprise of nobody in this room the state trying to get this out of court so the first step of litigation we are responding to that as we speak uh just writing one honestly they cannot dismiss us and I would say stage units or the early phase of the litigation was doing some initial background before but things are gonna get into the Sea very soon which is why I need your cell phone number You are So our mission elections having all the time You all have a major election coming up in March so our mission is to make the point is every single asset we have to demonstrate why this is urgent and you have all the way as we can and so we're gonna be pushing really hard with us Any more questions please So we are encouraging every Organization that is engaged to stand up and continue this before they're still here on the ground we want their help and their vital because you're feeling to see for so we can coordinate to compensate with other organizations that are encouraging everyone in the visible bruce black books matter all of the organizations the stepped up delay oh um eight divisions of and just anyone who's engaged in turning out voters the market that is not partisan so anybody can speak up about it so we're guarding everyone to be part of that conversation okay More questions Okay if you Ginza point of okay here's what we're gonna do this real fast you're gonna ask your question you're gonna have your questions you can ask your question you are gonna go last only back to you you're gonna question you get the last question I think about it because it is profound and transfer The question You can see This is it around Volunteer but being here being a part of your fight because our mission this is partisan but it is a little bit of the right to vote is sacred it is the bedrock of our democracy and if we get this fight done all of the other side of the companies are so make sure you have your cell phone if you will and you can see your calling for office We're gonna make sure we talk to some of the table and say now please We're gonna connect you with two groups if you a lot of training on the signatures you like me you probably never cracked To be with intensity good They do in training we have to get the ball yes this are you celebrating black history month well I'm black every single day Every day Okay making certain that all voices can be heard that was in a fight for America as slaves in 16 19 Misunderstanding and it is our responsibility every day to just speak to that possibility my father was arrested he was 16 years old registering people to vote for this is before we can vote with your eighteen so he thought for a right that he wouldn't have for nearly for five years but he understood how important it was my mother fought for the rights of the and so for me the fight for a fair election is like this because We'll get to tell our story if we don't get much that's Okay hearing the sense is how you fight your that source We are going to have a sense as in 20 20 and when this will be ground zero because it is like hard to count population the hardest account populations in the us says this are people of color immigrants low income communities and children you guys have all of the schools and those are your fastest growing population and so we believe and I'm gonna be involved in organizations that are trying to make sure that we get the sense of kind of right because one of the reasons they were able to gerrymander so aggressively and 20 10 and 20 11 was because it's 20 10 we have huge amounts of populations and Area and parts of southwestern Virginia populations are also struggling and because of that they were able to draw lines on paper look like they were mildly or at least legally sufficient by music Mark which is why we were able to win that pedro residency here and get it Because look at the numbers taking will are I saying two different things and a lot of behind the systems Mass to what I knew to be population following braving the wind and a different credit seat a seasons out holding County wow because we with the changes happening doesn't stretching in the poll it and so participate Those numbers that show the video here they need to draw lines that ignore it it will be legal and so we have to do something once that happens we got the men if I 20 22 for new elections and that's why here might also important and if we elect more people who believe that politicians don't get to pick their voters voters pick the politicians and we can Now you can with your camera so My name is William Hill Speaker we know that you have a very good um speech is We are So the question is my position on the undocumented in the general conversation that we need to have United States is specifically for I've been an ally of the immigrant community in the state of Georgia my entire political career is I understand that whether you are documented or undocumented you belong to Georgia if you're here you are building up we need federal legislation that Legalization and for bringing people out of a job as they sell responsibility but the state is responsible for the safety of everyone coming into the door and so we focus as a state leader has been making sure that no matter who you are as you lift your you are safe if you live if you're you understand that you are under our protection if you are a child in the state you're constitutionally allowed to attend our schools But I believe that we have a home or federal leaders accountable for comprehensive bipartisan immigration legislation and it should not include any walls woo Go If you guys And you're asking people just want their license was like I'm gonna change that you have In the months and the constitution does not require the Red costume in it you have two Thursday to work I want you to do that but we all here again during the reading and just fishing we give constitution and we can make sure that you never get to be the referee that higher scorekeeper and intestine right oh You can raise your hand please yeah hi good And we did not have a grandfather clause didn't sort of Florida was always absolute without the uh view of the governor to restore those rights in Georgia you can have the right to restore the challenge to do it is that the process is complicated the process is initiated by 59 different kinds and they require that you pay restitution essentially who satisfy all of your financial obligations and for most who faces challenge navigating the process Boston Nation and then having 50 different halls and 50 different States and so Georgia does have a pathway that was a difficult one people travel there's extraordinary Organization known as the Georgia Justice project where you don't know anyone who has questions tell them to check out the gorgeous project this is something they work on every day and they're going to have oh okay yes you can I'm actually working on several bills right now work with direction sort of corrections that are um purchase against and one of the things that I just hope the Secretary of state he's he's at the Center of office that then the only thing that obligation is to actual time so time is I'm gonna I'm gonna hold them to a trust because I have a bill ready and I am working right now I just talked to the Georgia Justice project yeah yeah You look so excited for you in the very last Okay oh Okay thank you Charlie okay things that create that yes hello leader iran's my name is courtney spencer I'm so excited to be able to be a supporter for you I was a staging location director and I was also a canvass for you I appreciate you I honor you uh that's that's the first thing I would like to say one of the things that I tried to do is really get engagement amongst millennials and so I wouldn't want one of things I wanted to ask you was tell us about the importance of millennial um participation in the electoral process and our future and politics here instead of Georgia thank you and Many of them didn't we increase youth participation rates in the state of Georgia by a hundred and 39 percent All people still have a vote And so part of it is making sure that you have some of the reality is that the composition population tilt in your favorite and so you have to leverage it and that is one of the reasons we have to have a constant conversation about elections I am so proud and privileged that people showed up to vote in this election so For more you don't have the hops right y'all need to show up friends city Council races you want you to pick your trash on time really thinking about what happened yes and so one of the ways to increase civic engagement and connecting issues people absolutely so we and others to make sure that there is a deeper understanding of how decisions are made and if you as I said many times many people say if you are not at the table you are on the menu for the Charlie do you owe your cue to come All you can muster up and we're trying to work on the first day that was exactly what I can tell you that I can help and so I'm gonna ask you to do is to make way for those who are here some know and right This is in my heart with him let's do what we can get to you come out of that and say that so he has a health act is designed to help teachers support students who have been the health issues we have to figure out how we can get some support again and you can I got interview so I wanted to ask how can I help You're all going home and how we owe If you're fighting this issue for you you're dizzy and we bring this up you're gonna have to clean it up so we will use your help as much as we can yes thank you I mean are you are you all I mean we want a very wet by Let's get it done
