CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK LIGHT DISPLAY It’s getting close to time for Christmas in the Park!!! Below in the post it will explain on how lights sponsorship's work!!! When a person sponsors a light set, they are actually purchasing a particular set of lights for the Cities display from www.christmasdonebright.com and order must be placed through City Hall. The City will set up the lights, store them and reset them each year, until the set quits working. When lights quit working or they are damaged, plans are for the sponsor to be notified, to see if they want to replace them. Life expectancy is 7 to 10 years. With that in mind, lights sets on the website start around $85 to $90 and go up to almost $4000. If a person, or business, pays for a set of lights they will have a sign that goes in from of that light set, like a Christmas designed campaign sign, with their name on it, or a business name or, “In Memory of”. If a person, or business prefers not be select lights, donations can be made and the donations will be used for lights selected by our group, or the cost associated with getting the lights. Sponsorship's should be tax deductible for businesses and donations, if by check, can be made to Lawrence County Friends of the Park, that is a 501 C3 recognized by the IRS charity that was created by Don and Fran Cavenaugh and Mayor Charles Snapp and Jackie Snapp. Please message us here on the City Facebook page with any questions or you can email Christy at wrcityhall@att.net or call City Hall at 870-886-6638. Please keep in mind that since it’s late in the season some of the lights have already sold out on the website. We will be keeping a list of lights that are purchased, but nothing says we can’t have two of the same light pieces. We are looking forward to another successful Christmas in the Park. Since it is late in the year some items might not be available so call City Hall at 870-886-6638 to place your order as soon as possible if you are interested in ordering or adding to a collection you may already have.
