Happy Friday everyone!

Check out the interview with the talented Adelaide Clemens (Xandrie). The interview is just one of the many special features included on the Wasted On The Young DVD – enjoy!

Hi Guys,
We asked Ben Lucas what his favourite part of his job is – check out his response..
“ Honestly, that it's a job I want rather than need. My father always lived by a rule that whatever he did for a living would also be what he enjoyed - the thing he would do even if he wasn't getting paid. For me there is no choice: I can only be a filmmaker. Everything else would be a distraction.”

Ben Lucas: "I studied history before getting into writing. Games design & comics mostly before moving into script writing & editing. I spent many years crewing to study film making: worked in continuity & did lots of AD work. This was the education I chose to become a director- learning on the job. As a director, I've made a few shorts, corporates & TV before landing the feature."

A few of you asked below what the Director of Wasted On The Young worked on prior to Wasted - we'll post the answer now from Ben Lucas...

For those of you who wanted to know the locations in the film – here’s your answer, direct from Ben Lucas! “All in Perth: Floreat and City Beach, ECU Mount Lawley and ECU Joondalup, we built sets at an old studio in Dalkeith and then a couple of spots at UWA and Nedlands. The underwater stuff was the only bit outside Perth - the dive pool at Homebush in Sydney.”

As promised and as voted by you, here is the interview with Oliver Ackland..

Hey Guys, The weekend is finally here! To celebrate the release of Wasted, we will be posting an interview from the DVD's special features this afternoon. Who would you most like to see interviewed?

Ben Lucas: "The origin of the script originally had more of a horror slant to it - a concept from one of the producers (Aidan O'Bryan) about a boy getting Carrie-style revenge on a class of students. Not being overly into horror I decided to make it a thriller and from that, Wasted evolved. I'm interested in classic tales - tragedy plays. I wanted to do a kind of teen opera. Lord of the Flies-esque.” Any comments?

Hey guys - we have a quote from Ben Lucas answering your question about the origin of the script. We're posting now....

Guys, Ben Lucas has answered one of your questions about what he's up to now – check it out: “Lot's of films in development. One set in China, a couple of Aussie stories (one period, one current), a Singapore movie, a couple of projects in LA. I've got to get a couple small to mid-level films behind me so I can start working on the big ideas. The ones that require a body of work to be trusted with. Time will tell.”

Hey guys,

One of the main themes explored in Wasted is ‘truth/lies’.

We all know deceit can come back to haunt us, affecting relationships with friends and family. So we ask you, why do people lie...?

Hope everyone’s enjoying their Sunday! Included on the DVD are production diaries of the filming of Wasted On The Young. What questions would you like answered about the filming of Wasted?

A taste of what special features will include: cast and crew interviews with Adelaide Clemens, Alex Russell, Oliver Ackland and Ben C Lucas. Check out this great interview with Ben earlier this year with Margaret on the ABC’s ‘At the Movies’ http://www.abc.net.au/atthemovies/txt/s3136519.htm
