( Monday thru Friday )

I have lived in Birmingham the greater part of his life. However, the first seven years were in northwest Alabama in a town called Fayette. In 1952, the family moved to Birmingham. I attended Phillips High in Birmingham and Bessemer State Technical College in Bessemer.
My association with Crawford Broadcasting started in August of 1968 with the host of the afternoon program called Ivory Palaces. This program involved a combination of traditional hymns both vocally and instrumentally. Also, with a peppering of southern gospel.
In February of 1969, The host of the Dixie Gospel Caravan (DGC) Andy Cooley, took a ministry of music job in Dothan and moved to the evening shift of the totally southern gospel program DGC on WDJC. There he stayed until March of 2003 and moved to AM850.
During those years, I've been honored with seven nationally recognized Fan Awards presented each year at the National Quartet Convention now in Louisville, Kentucky. In addition, in 1999, Received the Southern Gospel Music Associations' DJ for 9 years.
