It was Robots vs Dinosaurs at Wild Wild West Con 7. I took my gear, my new Ravager Blade, and my Palico “Scrapper” to hunt down any dinosaurs threatening the populous.
Some awesome cosplays and amazing photos. There may even be a familiar face in there...
Found a good recording of Foxy the Pirate’s dance routine at AZFC 2017.
It was a blast to do and the croud response really helped me put 120% into it and really extend and punctuate my moves. I was also very pleased afterwards when the judges called out recognizing the Dr. Steel and Steam Powered Giraffe tracks I used.
”Now, Stand Back For Your Own Safety!” - Aquabats
”Back and Forth” - Dr. Steel
”Curtain-Raiser” - Steam Powered Giraffe
”Steam Powered Giraffe (Reprise)” - Steam Powered Giraffe
”6:00 AM clock chime & cheering” - Five Nights At Freddy’s
Credit to Shadyfox 13 for recording and uploading the video.
New props made for AFC. Con theme is “Wizarding School” this time around. Not quite an exact match, they are still based on sorcery in other media.

I hosted a panel at IBFC over the weekend discussing various techniques available for working with EVA craft foam to make props and armor. As part of it, I made a simple dagger pattern that can be made from layering pieces of fun foam/"foamies" together.
Simply download and print out the pattern on a regular 8.5x11 paper, place it over a sheet of craft foam, and assemble.
The examples were made using a modified pattern (extra points on the cross guard). One is built from all grey foam where the other I used multiple colors of foams for the different parts. I even added a ribbon wrap on the grip for that one too.
