This is my 3rd time staying at The Whistling Swan inn . My current get away I had booked in a beach town & had a very bad experience & knew I couldn't have stayed . I called Roz at the last minute she... graciously accommodated me with the beautiful High Point Tower Suite where I spent 5 nights . The inn is sparkling clean , the housekeeping staff is wonderful thoroughly cleaned my room as well as changed my sheets during my stay . Breakfasts are a home cooked HOT delicious breakfast every morning . I always enjoy Roz's company she'll grab a cup of coffee & sit with you & chat yet there is much privacy here should you prefer that . All
the rooms are beautifully appointed with spa type amenities . The most amazing homemade brownies are always available in the common area as well as other snacks , water , coffee & tea . Roz made adorable cupcakes for Valentine's Day during my stay . I will continue to come back
to The Whistling Swan again & again !

My husband and I just spent two nights at the Whistling Swan Inn. We found the Inn to be charming, welcoming and immaculately clean. Stanhope is a small, quiet town but while there we were pointed to... two wonderful restaurants - Carmines which was a tiny little Italian shop with amazing food and the Bell's Mansion which was a little bit more upscale. The Inn has a beautiful setting...even though it is smack in the middle of a neighborhood... They have a beautiful garden area and a small pond with a waterfall ..... We loved the wrap around porch and took the opportunity to sit out there and also ate our breakfast out there one morning... The breakfasts were good and the innkeeper accomodating...best coffee in town too ! If you are traveling, this inn is a wonderful stopover. See More

Celebrated our anniversary here.. it was wonderful.. clean, cozy and had a lot of xtras that you normally don't get at a B&B.. we enjoyed the sherry night cap that was in the parlor .. the delicious h...ome baked chocolate chip cookies and other snack options as well .. the ice machine and the complimentary coffe tea and cold beverages.. among other great amenities .. comfy sheets pillows and robes!! The inn keepers were on vacation while we where there..we were disappointed we didn't get to meet them and tell them how much we enjoyed their Inn.. but they had wonderful staff filling in for them .. we especially enjoyed Sue's hospitality! What a wonderful experience it was! The only negative was that we only got to spend one night at the Inn! I can't wait to go back for my birthday weekend, everything about the place was delightful...t...he accommodations were so cozy, we stayed in the Tranqulilty Room however each and every room at the Inn seems to be better than the next! Roz and Tom, the innkeepers were so hospitable and welcoming, the breakfast was delicious! Again, I can't wIt to return in the Fall/Winter! See More

We have stayed here once before. Great place. The rooms are super clean and the breakfast is incredible. The grounds are nice too with a flower garden and fish pond.

Roz, the innkeeper w...as so friendly and warm. She made us feel right at home. We would definitely come back and I recommend this as a great bed and breakfast. See More

I didn't feel our room was worth the money. We happened to stay during a hot spell in November and the Inn Keeper would not turn on the air conditioning. We were on the top floor with one small windo...w. The heat was horrible. Many guests had complained, at least to us of their discomfort. However the Inn keeper was very friendly and breakfast was delicious. See More

I think the best B&B experience we have had to date! Super cozy room, great atmosphere and Roz - innkeeper extraordinaire! There are simply too many areas to enjoy and relax to experience in one tri...p. Quality drinks and snacks available 24-7. We really look forward to our next stay as our expectations were far exceeded. See More

My wife and I loved the Whistling Swan. The proprietors were extremely friendly. The house is a beautiful old home. The garden and yard are beautiful. We ate on the porch one morning and the gazebo th...e second. I took a bike out from the house both nights to enjoy the lake area. We are already making plans for next year for another getaway. Highly recommended See More

We just returned from a three day stay at the inn, where we had a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Tranquility Room, which is a cozy, romantic room on the third floor, with a claw foot tub in th...e bathroom. We were greeted by Ros when we arrived, she gave us a quick tour of the common areas, and showed us to our lovely room, where we found a bottle of wine and cheese basket waiting. We appreciated the quietness and privacy that the room afforded us. Breakfast was fantastic, freshly prepared eggs Florentine one day and a fabulous casserole the next day. We enjoyed chatting with other guests, and Ros was a wonderful hostess as well. We would definitely stay again, would like to try out some of the other guest rooms, and hear more of Ros' stories. She was a wealth of information regarding the history of her inn, the surrounding community, and recommended some fabulous places to eat. Definitely two thumbs, way up!! See More

In March my daughter surprised me and took me to the Inn. We had a very nice time the place is pretty inside and clean. The owner was nice, she had home made brownies and cookies. The one thing that w...e were disappointed in was the breakfast. The owner served a small fruit salad, some bought little muffins and a home made egg Spinage pie. It was cold and a little dry. So if anyone goes just speak up and tell her what you would like her to prepare you for breakfast we didn't do that. Someone said she makes wonderful French toast oh well wish we had that lol See More

We honeymooned here almost 5 years ago, then went back for our anniversary. It is the most amazing, beautiful bed and breakfast we've ever stayed in. So clean, the food was excellent...but most import...ant, it was cozy, welcoming, and romantic. See More
