"Jesus shall reign where’re the sun,
Does its successive journeys run,
His kingdom stretch from shore to shore,
Till moons shall wax and wane no more.”
In this world, life does not grant eternal love nor does love grant eternal life. Oh, but the power of God in the cross! Because in the cross, God has granted eternal life by His love and god has given eternal love by His life.
Due to the weather forecast as well as The schools closing today we will not have our regular Wednesday night meal or Awana.
If you feel safe enough to drive out and want to attend a time of prayer, Pastor Brett will be there at 7 PM to read scripture, pray and worship with you.
Jesus' ministry begins as we approach the New Testament in our church-wide study of Scripture. The Story sermon series continues at message #26. We realize Jesus is the dawning of the light of the Gospel of God's glory. Just as God the Father affirms His Son at baptism; 2) God the Holy Spirit thrusts the Son to the wilderness to be tempted for 40 days; 3) God the Son brings the Gospel to the darkness.
In the third of a three-part series, Faith, Hope, and Love, we examine Love with the primary text, 1 John 4: 7-21. We should love: 1) Because God is love, vv. 7-8; 2) To follow God's supreme example of Christ, vv. 9-10; 3) In order to be who we are in Christ Jesus, v. 11; 4) Because His love is perfected in us, v. 12; 5) Because love is the Christian's crucial commitment. No one has ever sinned against you worse than you sinned against Jesus.
In this, the second of a three-part series, Faith, Hope, and Love, Pastor Brett presents 1 Peter 1:3-5 where we are reminded that hope in Christ is caused by God so that people will worship Him. 1) The only source of hope is the resurrected Lord; 2) The only progression of hope in Christ is toward the eternal glory of God; 3) The only real hope results in the worship of Jesus Christ. By God's power we are being guarded. He guards 1) You; 2) Your inheritance; 3) Your faith.
Faith in Christ is feasting on the unseen reward. Our unseen reward is Jesus Christ. Four reasons to live by faith: 1) Because you fear God; 2) Because our reward is greater than everything; 3) Because you don't walk by sight; 4) You remember the sacrifice of Christ. This is the first in a three-part series on Faith, Hope, and Love
