SUBJECT: Drug Overdose Inside Residence
OR#: 43-2203-002367
DATE: 03/11/2022
WILTON MANORS POLICE OFFICERS AND BROWARD COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKE ARREST REGARDING INCIDENT INVOLVING NUMEROUS INDIVIDUALS WHO SUFFERED A DRUG OVERDOSE.
Wilton Manors, Florida: On Thursday, March 10th, 2022 at approximately 4:58 pm, Wilton Manors Police Officers responded to 811 Northwest 29th Court in reference to a reported medical emergency.
Further investigation revealed that six (6) males were feeling the effects of a drug overdose. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to the scene and rendered aid to the male patients. Four (4) patients were transported to Broward General Medical Center and two (2) were transported to Holy Cross Hospital. A seventh female patient was later transported to the hospital after feeling ill.
Officers from the Wilton Manors Police Department took precautionary measures by evacuating and securing the residence due to the unidentified powdery substance. The Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Hazmat Team responded to the scene, tested the material and discovered the substance was laced with the powerful and deadly synthetic opioid drug, Fentanyl.
Investigators from the Wilton Manors Police Department and Broward Sheriff's Office continue investigating this incident and have made an arrest in connection to this incident. Additional information regarding this incident and arrest will be provided when it becomes available.
At this time, the investigation has revealed the involved patients are college students on spring break from the State of New York and were at the residence identified as a vacation rental. This incident serves as a stark reminder to all, especially those visiting for Spring Break, of the deadly impacts of Fentanyl. This synthetic opioid continues to have detrimental impacts on many communities, and our agency remains committed to drug prevention and intervention initiatives. Our agency also remains committed to investigating and prosecuting acts of illegal drug activity.
The Wilton Manors Police Department would like to extend a special thanks to our officers and investigators, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue and the Broward County Sheriff’s Office for their actions taken, and assistance provided, during this incident.
This Wilton Manors Police Department with partnering agencies will continue working together to investigate this incident and provide information as it becomes available.

The fed needs to target the cartels making this substance that they’re blending with the cocaine. I’ve seen too many friends die over this and the plethora of drugs available in Wilton Manors.
