Back in 2009, a radical leftist named Paul Krugman wrote about the health care system in Britain. As a leftist, it's his view that government-run health care is better than free market health care. Basically, he thinks that people get better health care if it's run like the US Postal Service is run, instead of how Amazon.com is run. Let's see what he says in the far-left extremist [ 879 more words ]

Sometimes, I feel that I write such mean and judgy things that it discourages people who are involved in a very rebellious lifestyle to think that there is anything that God can do with them. This is because, as a man, I am very interested in setting out boundaries for people to protect them. If I'm dealing with a genuinely repentant or just plain open-minded person, then I am very much more understanding and supportive. [ 538 more words ]

Lately, we've seen an outburst of radical feminism as more women have been equating actual rape and sexual assault with sexist comments or clumsy passes. How does this change how women are perceived in the workplace? Here's an article from Medium (H/T Tracy) by an anonymous male feminist. The first point is about how women handle disagreement, compared to men: [ 995 more words ]

The UK Daily Mail reports on a study sure to confound feminists. Excerpt: It's probably not the most popular piece of health advice ever dished out – but researchers say that doing the housework can add years to your life. They found that women who clean, hoover and do the laundry are likely to live almost three years longer. Hoovering is what British people call vacuuming. [ 580 more words ]

I heard that there was a new Star Wars movie out, and that many of my Christian friends were going to see it. I passed on it, because there is something about that whole series that is creepy to me. It looks like my concerns have some justification. I noticed a couple of reviews of the movie from Come Reason Ministries and Bnonn Tennant. [ 1,058 more word ]

One of the problems with people on the secular left is that they are so fixated on gender and skin color, that they hire, appoint and promote people based on gender and skin color. It doesn't matter which candidate is competent for the job, it only matters that they appear concerned about "diversity". [ 807 more words ]

There's been an update on the persecution of the Christian bakers from Oregon. They appealed their case to the Oregon Court of Appeals. The Daily Signal has the latest news: A husband-and-wife baking team must pay a $135,000 fine for declining to make a cake for the wedding of two women, Oregon’s second-highest court has ruled. A three-judge panel of the Oregon Court of Appeals on Thursday upheld a decision by a state agency that led to the fine and forced Aaron and Melissa Klein to close their bakery. [ 540 more words ]

Since we are seeing Trump reach out to pro-democracy protesters in Iran, it's worth remembering how Obama responded to them in 2009. First, here's what happened in Iran in 2009, just after Obama was elected president. Excerpt: The doctor who tried to save an Iranian protester as she bled to death on a street in Tehran has told the BBC of her final moments. [ 1,019 more word ]

At the beginning of 2017, I was a card-carrying member of the Team Never Trump. I was very grumpy that my picks for president, Scott Walker and Ted Cruz, were beat out in the primary by a pretend-conservative. I expected Trump to be a center-left Democrat who would do nothing to fix 8 years of failure from our first affirmative action President. [ 1,099 more word ]

In Canada, Christian couples are qualified to pay mandatory taxes to the secular government, but they're not qualified raise children. That's the government's job, apparently. Check out this story from the Toronto Sun. Excerpt: ‘Twas a few days before Christmas when all through a Hamilton courtroom of the hallowed Superior Court of Ontario, the lawyers were arguing about – Santa Claus. [ 697 more words ]

(Source: U.S. State Department via Business Insider) I spent some time during my winter vacation reading through a whole bunch of military history books... "Lone Survivor", "13 Hours" and "Red Platoon". In Thirteen Hours, I found out how the embassy in Benghazi was attacked, and then defended by security personnel at a nearby CIA outpost. The security personnel requested assistance over and over, and explained carefully that this was a planned terrorist attack, with pre-sighted indirect fire from mortars. [ 684 more words ]

I'm writing the intro blurb for tomorrow's post about Obama's foreign policy. I'm just wondering whether any Democrats in the mainstream media could even remember so many details about what Obama did. I'm certain that no TV-watching Obama voter could make a list like this just from memory:

Exciting news in Tennessee! Previously, I blogged about how my favorite Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn had entered the Tennessee Senate race for the seat being vacated by squishy moderate Bob Corker. I have blogged about Marsha Blackburn's activities many times on this blog, going back for many years. Although Marsha Blackburn is a wonderful candidate for the Senate, Tennessee still needs a conservative governor. [ 526 more words ]

I've decided to explain why physicists believe that there was a creation event in this post. That is to say, I've decided to let famous cosmologist Alexander Vilenkin do it. From Uncommon Descent. Excerpt: Did the cosmos have a beginning? The Big Bang theory seems to suggest it did, but in recent decades, cosmologists have concocted elaborate theories – for example, an eternally inflating universe or a cyclic universe – which claim to avoid the need for a beginning of the cosmos.
