The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship program of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). The program was initiated in 2010 to support young African leaders as they spur growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance peace and security across Africa. She Leads Africa is recruiting talented female entrepreneurs with startup companies focused on West Africa to compete for cash, prizes, and access to top notch mentors and investors.

10 female entrepreneurs will be selected and matched with mentors in the consulting, finance and VC industry to help the entrepreneurs refine their business plans. Entrepreneurs will then be invited to pitch their ideas in front of a panel of notable business personalities in September in Lagos including:

Ngozi Edozien (Fmr CEO, Actis West Africa)
Bola Adesola (CEO, Standard Chartered Bank)
