World Neighbors is asking for donations.

One of the women farmers from Nepal that works with WN, Sita Pokharel, said “My day would start with buying vegetables every morning. I used to spend around 150 rupees daily for vegetables alone…Through a neighbor, I came to know about the group that is supported by WN. My neighbor told me she was learning new and practical things. Then I decided to join the group. As a member of the group, I got an opportunity to learn about vegetable farming, seed management and the group a...lso gave me seeds. I cleaned my small plot of land which was under-used and dirty and then I sowed all the seeds carefully following instructions during the training. I was so happy to see different varieties of vegetables sprouting; I had never seen them before. They also taught us how to sell the surplus in the local market. In eight months I earned 68,800 rupees just by selling vegetables…I use the income for home expenses, the children’s education and I do not need to ask for money from others anymore. It gives me a sense of pride and dignity I never knew before. I have plans to expand the land, and to grow off-season vegetables through the tunnel technique. Earlier my day would begin with buying vegetables, but now it starts with selling vegetables.”
