very SAD News this week!
No more Write In the Great Southern!
Perth Festival had to reconfigure its Great Southern program and unfortunately their partnership with Bookmark to present Write In the Great Southern had to be sacrificed.
We are incredibly disappointed but totally understand that sometimes difficult decisions have to be made. So with that this facebook site will be maintained very minimally. If you haven't already done so go and like Bookmark and keep up to date. We of course will be exploring ways to fill this gap. Any creative, inspiring, capable and energetic persons out there who want to talk 'what next' please contact Jo Smith 0428 434 327 / email@example.com
Any poets want to get into a bit of multi-arts groove?
Heard of Paea Leach? well she's worth a hearing for sure! She's a dancer but she does stuff with poetry and sound and images etc. True multi-medi artist. And sh...e's doing a workshop - not for dancers but people of all art backgrounds - esp poetry. Happening in Denmark in early July. I'd love to encourage all poets to join this one.

The tireless Suzannah Lyons from Great Southern's ABC Open put this gorgeous community poem together during the opening of this year's festival. Well done Suzannah it's very cool. We love the grainy lighting.
ABC open hosted the opening event for Write In the Great Southern on Friday night. A gorgeous evening listening to local talent reading their generous, warm and at times emotional stories. Thanks to Suzannah for a marvellous evening and to all the contributors who took the mic.
At Word's Out this Sunday 7pm at the Albany Town Hall
ABC Open Great southern is offering to choreograph a poem by YOU the people of the Great Southern
